BASKETBALL

VILNIUS www.packerscheapshoponline.com/cheap-aut...ll-savage-jr.-jersey , Lithuania (AP) – The brothers of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball landed in rainy Lithuania to start their career with a local basketball club.

The 19-year-old LiAngelo and his younger brother LaMelo, who is 16, signed professional one-year contracts with BC Prienai last month. The brothers arrived with their father LaVar Ball, the creator of Big Baller Brand.

LiAngelo and LaMelo are expected to make their debut on Jan. 9, when BC Prienai hosts Tsmoki-Minsk in a Baltic league game.

Mirai Nagasu, the 2008 U.S. champion and a 2010 Olympian who was passed over for the team four years ago, stood second, .7 behind Tennell. Defending champion Karen Chen, who has had a poor campaign, reversed that as the final skater and was third.

LAS VEGAS (AP) – The Vegas Golden Knights signed leading scorer Jonathan Marchessault to a $30 million, six-year contract extension, the clearest sign yet that the first-year, first-place organization is going for it.

Since being taken from the Florida Panthers in the expansion draft, Marchessault has been a big reason for the Golden Knights’ surprising inaugural season. The 27-year-old forward has 15 goals and 22 assists in 37 games for Vegas http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/aut...-justice-hill-jersey , which leads the Western Conference at 27-9-2.

WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

GRAMBLING, La. (AP) – Shakyla Hill’s assist in the closing seconds of Grambling State’s win over Alabama State gave the junior guard the fourth quadruple-double in NCAA women’s basketball history.

SKIING

ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) – Mikaela Shiffrin took a women’s World Cup slalom for her seventh win in 14 starts this season.

The Olympic champion from the United States built on a commanding first-run lead to beat Wendy Holdener of Switzerland by 1.59 seconds.

Frida Hansdotter of Sweden was 2.11 behind in third, while Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova, the only skier to beat Shiffrin in a slalom event this season, finished 2.24 off the lead in fourth.

After skipping two speed races in Val d’Isere last month, Shiffrin leads the overall standings with 1,081 points after 16 of this season’s 38 races. Viktoria Rebensburg of Germany trails by 571 points in second.

Shiffrin is the defending slalom and overall World Cup champion.

Kei Nishikori pulled out of the Australian Open because his right wrist is not fully recovered enough from a torn tendon to withstand the rigor of best-of-five-set matches at a Grand Slam tournament.

Nishikori’s agent, Olivier van Lindonk, announced the 2014 U.S. Open runner-up’s withdrawal in an email.

The Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the new season Ben Powers Jersey , begins Jan. 15.

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) – Former champion Milos Raonic lost in straight sets to 18-year-old Alex De Minaur in a second-round upset at the Brisbane International.

Raonic, who won the Brisbane title in 2016 and reached the Wimbledon final that year, struggled to find rhythm with his usually booming serve in a 6-4, 6-4 loss to the Australian wild-card entry. The victory put De Minaur into a quarterfinal match against American qualifier Michael Mmoh, who upset No. 8-seeded Mischa Zverev 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.

SOCCER

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Orlando City signed forward Dom Dwyer to a three-year contract.

Dwyer, who played on the U.S. national team last year, was traded to Orlando from Kansas City last July. The deal included an MLS-record $1.6 million in allocation money.

Dwyer had nine goals and five assists in league play overall last season, including four goals and four assists after coming to Orlando.

Orlando also acquired midfielder Sacha Kljestan and $150,000 in allocation money in a trade with the New York Red Bulls for forward Carlos Rivas and center back Tommy Redding.

CARSON, Calif. (AP) – Defender Ashley Cole agreed to return for another season with the LA Galaxy. The MLS club announced a one-year contract with the 37-year-old English star. Cole had one goal and two assists in 29 games as the Galaxy’s left back last year. SPEEDSKATING

MILWAUKEE (AP) – Heather Bergsma won the 1 http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/aut...iman-marshall-jersey ,000 meters at the U.S. speedskating trials, with Brittany Bowe finishing second to join her longtime rival on the Olym There are generally three types of NFL players. The first are the stars, the guys who get the mega-bucks, the MVPs and champions, the ones everyone pays attention two. Then there are the supporting guys, not as famous but still there and enjoying good long careers. And then there’s the rest, guys who have some skill but overall, nowhere near star or even starting status, just in it for the money and not much else to do while stuck on horrible teams. Sure, every player drams of hoisting a Super Bowl trophy but most are aware that a few minutes of playing time may be the best they can get. It’s tricky as so many times, it’s sheer luck that leads to stardom. If not for an injury to Drew Bledsoe, Tom Brady would never have become a legend. Throw in how injuries can hit and keeping a star career going is tougher.Which is why it’s notable how some guys can look for all the world like stars but can’t pay it off. Some cases are infamous like Johnny Manziel or Ryan Leaf, drafted high then self-destructed. Many a rookie has shown amazing promise in his first year but can never achieve that again. Some guys can actually be around for a while then suddenly erupt with a great year only to have it turn out to be a fluke. Injuries and personal issues can take their toll but some cases are just guys who oddly can’t do more than one good year. Amazingly, a few still can boast championship rings but not the same status to make them a Hall of Famer. Here are 20 NFL players who were merely stars for a season and how difficult sustaining a full career is.

Two people with direct knowledge of the trade told The Associated Press that the Jets agreed Sunday to acquire two-time Pro Bowl left guard Kelechi Osemele from the Oakland Raiders. The deal includes the Jets sending their fifth-round draft pick to the Raiders for Oakland’s sixth-rounder http://www.billsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-cody-ford-jersey , according to one of the people who spoke to The AP on condition of anonymity because the trade can’t be completed until the new league year starts Wednesday.ESPN first reported the trade for Osemele, with Bay Area News Group first reporting the terms. The deal is the second by the Raiders in less than 24 hours. They agreed Saturday to acquire receiver Antonio Brown in a trade with Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Osemele fills a major need on the Jets’ offensive line in front of quarterback Sam Darnold. Starting left guard James Carpenter is scheduled to become a free agent after an injury-shortened season. Carpenter spent the past four seasons with New York after playing in Seattle for four and helping the Seahawks win the Super Bowl in 2014.But the Jets appeared ready to move on from Carpenter, who turns 30 later this month and is coming off a shoulder injury that limited him to 10 games last season.New York, which entered the offseason with question marks on its offensive line at center and left guard, is re-signing Jonotthan Harrison Devin Singletary Jersey , who started the final seven games at center when Spencer Long struggled with injuries and consistency. But it’s uncertain whether Harrison is in new coach Adam Gase’s plans as the starter moving forward. Long was released last month after just one season with the Jets and has since signed with Buffalo.Meanwhile, the Raiders save $10.2 million on their salary cap by dealing Osemele, who turns 30 in June. He is also due $11.7 million next season, but none of the remaining salary includes guaranteed money.Osemele was a second-round pick of Baltimore in 2012 and he started every game at right tackle as a rookie before moving to left guard to replace the injured Jah Reid in the postseason. He was limited to seven games the following year because of a back injury, but started 28 games over the next two seasons for the Ravens. He signed a five-year, $58.5 million deal with Oakland in 2016 and made the Pro Bowl in each of his first two years with the Raiders. Osemele’s performance dropped last season as he dealt with toe and knee injuries that limited him to 11 games.Raiders coach Jon Gruden and first-year general manager Mike Mayock made an even bigger splash Saturday night when they swung the deal to acquire the prolific but disgruntled Brown.Oakland will sign Brown to a new three-year deal with the Raiders that will pay him $50.125 million instead of the $38.925 million he was owed by the Steelers. The deal also includes $30 million guaranteed http://www.billsauthorizedshops.com/auth...c-dawson-knox-jersey , compared to none remaining in his old deal. It also gives Derek Carr the best offensive weapon he has had in Oakland since entering the league in 2014. OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The Raiders are making progress toward completing a lease to keep the team at the Oakland Coliseum for at least one more season.Coliseum Authority director Scott McKibben said Monday that the two sides are having “good, constructive talks” for finalizing a new lease for 2019 with an option for 2020. But McKibben says there are still details to be worked out before a contract can be brought to the board for approval. McKibben says that could happen by the end of next week. The Raiders have been searching for a home for 2019 before they move to Las Vegas to play in a new $1.8 billion, 65,000-seat stadium. The team had pulled out of lease extension talks after Oakland sued the Raiders and the NFL over the planned move to Las Vegas. But with the team planning to practice at its facility in Alameda in 2019, staying in the Bay Area was always the top priority. The Raiders had talks about sharing a stadium with the San Francisco Giants Brian Burns Jersey , but that was opposed by the 49ers. The Raiders also could look into sharing Levi’s Stadium with the 49ers, although owner Mark Davis has been opposed to that option. The Raiders weren’t immediately available for comment on the status of the talks. The NFL needs to get a final answer on where the Raiders will play in order to put together a schedule for the upcoming season. The schedule is expected to be released in April.

ASHBURN Noah Fant Jersey , Va. (AP) — and reinstated to the Washington Redskins‘ active roster after an NFL investigation into an incident of domestic violence found he did not violate the league’s personal conduct policy. The league announced Foster’s fine for two games this season and his new status Friday. Foster will be allowed to participate in all team activities, which includes Washington’s offseason program that begins next week.Foster avoided being suspended in the aftermath of a domestic violence charge from November, which triggered a review based on his previous violations of league policies. Prosecutors in Tampa, Florida, decided in January not to pursue a domestic violence case against the 25-year-old, dismissing the first-degree misdemeanor battery charge.“Everyone in this league is held to a higher standard,” Redskins President Bruce Allen said. “Reuben understands that his past actions have led a lot of people to doubt him http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/dalton-risner-jersey , and he has committed to doing the work necessary to earn the trust of his teammates, our great fans, and the NFL.”Foster was arrested at the San Francisco 49ers’ hotel in Tampa in November and jailed overnight following an incident involving the second-year linebacker and a companion police identified as the same woman who said Foster hit her in February. The woman later recanted the earlier allegations. The 49ers released Foster, and the Redskins claimed him off waivers but acknowledged he might never play for them. He was placed on the Commissioner Exempt List after Washington added him and finished the season on it.Foster is now cleared to return and play his first game since October.“I am grateful to the Washington Redskins and the NFL for giving me this second chance,” Foster said. “I accept the NFL’s decision and want to say that I am truly sorry for my past actions and the people who may have been hurt by them.”The league says Foster acknowledged responsibility for his actions and has committed to a comprehensive accountability plan developed in conjunction with the NFLPA and the Redskins to avoid future incidents. Allen said the plan includes counseling, a living arrangement, weekly meetings with the team’s player engagement director and chaplain Drew Lock Jersey , and some community service.“We have been very clear with Reuben that his past does not have to determine his future — but the responsibility is squarely on him to change,” Allen said. “Reuben must fully adhere to the plan we have developed for him. Reuben knows that we simply will not tolerate any future conduct that is detrimental to the Washington Redskins organization or to the NFL.”The league said it advised Foster that any future incidents will likely result in more substantial discipline. Foster has so far played 16 regular-season games for San Francisco after being a first-round pick in the 2017 draft.“Going forward, I will follow the plan outlined for me and work hard to earn back the trust of my teammates, the NFL, NFL fans and the community,” Foster said. “I know that my success is all up to me, and I am committed to not letting you down.” Each year http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/dre_mont-jones-jersey , hundreds of former college football players wait to hear their name called during the NFL Draft. With only seven rounds in the draft these days, there are a lot of people that never get to see their dream realized, as only 256 names were called in the 2015 edition of the entry draft. The dream isn’t completely dead for those that weren’t picked, though, as undrafted free agents are often called upon to help fill out the roster for teams. Some of those players get cut within just a few days, some hang around on the practice squad for a couple of years and some even get to see the field during the regular season. For those that are given the chance, making a big first impression is vital. While most get put back onto the bench T.J. Hockenson Jersey , a certain few become staples for their teams for years to come. The NFL is filled with a ton of undrafted talent, and some of the best players in league history never got drafted. Many of the best players in the league today never got on stage for the NFL Draft, and have helped their teams win Super Bowls. So who are the 15 best undrafted players that are currently in the league? We ranked them in terms of current productivity instead of career production. Wes Welker is an honorable mention, but he’s not on an NFL roster currently. Here are the 15 that we picked.

He was 87.Michels’ daughter, Sarah Michels-Dunkel, said Friday that her father died Thursday in Kingsport.Michels worked on the Vikings’ coaching staff from 1967-93, making him the longest-tenured assistant coach in franchise history. He was the offensive line coach that entire stretch, most of it under coach Bud Grant Ugo Amadi Jersey , aside from one season a running backs coach. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1953 and 1956 before joining the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where he played for Grant. Michels later worked on Grant’s coaching staff at Winnipeg and with the Vikings. Michels also was an assistant at Texas A&M for one season. He was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1954-56.Michels played guard on Tennessee’s 1951 national championship team and earned consensus All-America honors in 1952.He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996 and entered the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — After making three picks on the opening day of the NFL draft, New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman was quick to say how great it is when need and value match. It ended up being the story of all three days of the draft for the Giants, who are in a serious rebuilding mode after winning eight games over the past two seasons.Much had to be replaced with the trades of star receiver Odell Beckham Jr and top sacker Olivier Vernon to Cleveland, the loss of Pro Bowl safety Landon Collins to Washington in free agency, and a roster that had holes and a lack of depth.Gettleman got top-quality players with three first-round picks http://www.bengalsauthorizedshops.com/au...c-drew-sample-jersey , but he also put his job on the line taking Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the No. 6 pick overall. The Giants aren’t going to shove Jones into the starting lineup. He is going to learn for a year or so behind two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, who is 38 years old and entering the final year of an $84 million contract. However, that’s a big sacrifice. The Giants need a quarterback for the future. Their fans also want them to win now, especially after missing the playoffs six of the past seven seasons and finishing 5-11 last season. The problem is there is no guarantee Jones is going to be a sure thing. He was rated by some as the fourth-best quarterback prospect in the draft. Gettleman and coach Pat Shurmur believe he can be a franchise player.“I have to think short term and I have to think long term,” Gettleman said of using a No. 6 for a player who probably won’t see much action in 2019.“That’s the box I am in. Coaches have to win now and I ask myself a million times, ‘Have I given Pat and the guys enough players to win?’ It’s tough.”Gettleman said he knew two teams would have taken Jones had he not done so at No. 6, adding it was not easy to pass on Kentucky edge player Josh Allen http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/trayvon-mullen-jersey , who was taken at No. 7 by Jacksonville.“But I think that much of Daniel Jones and his future as an NFL quarterback,” he added.Time will tell, but there is a lot riding on it for the 68-year-old Gettleman, who just finished his second draft since replacing Jerry Reese. Here’s the quick takeaway from the draft:WHO THEY GOTIn addition to Jones, the Giants drafted seven players on defense, a speedy wide receiver and an offensive tackle. The defense needed the most help after finishing 24th in the league and registering 30 sacks, tied for second lowest in the league in 2018.The D line and the secondary got the most help.Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence of Clemson was the 17th pick overall. He is a run stuffer at 344 pounds who can get a push in the middle to help the rush.Cornerback Deandre Baker of Georgia was the third of New York’s three first-round picks http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/isaiah-johnson-jersey , No. 30 overall. The Giants feel he was the top cover cornerback in the draft.Defensive end Oshane Ximines was taken in the third round. He is the first player drafted out of Old Dominion, where he had 33 sacks.Notre Dame cornerback Julian Love was taken in the fourth round. He is fast and can play both the slot and the outside in coverage.Wisconsin inside linebacker Ryan Connelly was the first of two fifth-round picks. He is a fast sideline-to-sideline player who had 89 tackles before his season was ended by hernia surgery. Auburn wide receiver Darius Slayton is a sprinter who averaged 20.3 yards per catch in his career.New York grabbed another speedster in the sixth round, taking Washburn University cornerback and return man Corey Ballentine. The Giants wrapped up the draft by picking Kentucky tackle George Asafo-adjei and Syracuse defensive tackle Chris Slayton in the seventh round.Asafo-adjei was the feel-good story. He was born in New York City and raised by a single mother who worked three jobs. He didn’t get a chance to meet his sister until he was 14 years old because she was living in Ghana and the family could not get her to the United States.SURPRISE MOVEPicking Jones at No. 6. It’s going to be debated for some time.HOW THEY DIDThe Giants met every major need, except drafting a young safety.WHAT’S NEXT?Right tackle is the big issue. Asafo-adjei will be given a chance to challenge incumbent Chad Wheeler. There is a chance veteran free agent right tackle Mike Remmers will be signed. He visited during free agency and is currently rehabbing an injury.

Kole Calhoun has come a long way since getting a needed break on the disabled list last month Jace Sternberger Jersey , and Garrett Richards looked pretty sharp after his own DL stint.

Batting in the leadoff spot for only the fourth time this season, Calhoun had three hits and drove in three runs to help lift Richards (5-4) in his return.

Calhoun’s towering homer in the sixth gave the Angels a 6-2 lead. He also had a single in the fourth inning for his first RBI. Calhoun is batting .306 with four homers and eight RBIs since coming off the DL on June 18. He was hitting .145 before that break.

”Kole did his job today,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. ”That’s what we need from the guys at the top of the order. It gave us a lot of opportunities today.”

Richards, who went on the DL on June 15 with a left hamstring strain, allowed three runs, including back-to-back homers to Kyle Seager and Ryon Healy, over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out eight.

”I just overthrew a couple of heaters there,” Richards said of the home runs. ”But I felt good. The hamstring felt good. I knew I would be on a leash (80 pitches), so I just tried to execute pitches.”

Richards retired 10 of the next 11 hitters he faced after the home runs.

”Garrett just exhaled (after the homers) and made some really good pitches,” Scioscia said. ”He gave us a chance to win the game.”

Blake Parker pitched out of trouble in the ninth for his 10th save. Mike Zunino singled and Denard Span doubled to put runners at second and third, but Dee Gordon flied out to center and Zunino was thrown out at the plate on Jean Segura’s grounder to Albert Pujols at first. Mitch Haniger ended it with a groundout to third.

Parker failed to cover first on the grounder to Pujols, so Pujols had no choice but to throw home.

”Pujols getting that guy at the plate was a huge out,” Scioscia said. ”The pitcher didn’t cover there, so Albert made a great decision and threw a strike to the plate.”

The Mariners had their chances, including a bases-loaded, no-outs situation in the seventh inning when trailing 6-3. After Gordon and Span struck out http://www.packerscheapstore.com/dexter-williams-jersey-cheap , Segura hit a broken-bat flare that looked like it might drop behind second base and score two runs, but Angels second baseman David Fletcher made a leaping catch to end the inning.

”I got a pretty good read off the bat,” Fletcher said. ”I kind of felt I had a bead on it all the way. It was a nice feeling to save those runs from scoring.”

The Mariners struck out 15 times and left eight men on base.

Mike Leake (8-5) allowed four runs and nine hits before leaving with no one out in the fifth. He had allowed two runs or less in seven of his previous eight starts.

”They were battling me, fouling balls off today,” Leake said. ”Trying to get them to go down, but they found some holes and that’s about it.”

Luis Valbuena drove in two runs for the Angels and Shohei Ohtani and two hits and scored two runs.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Angels: OF Chris Young was placed on the 10-day DL a day after straining his hamstring. LHP Tyler Skaggs was also placed on the DL with a thigh strain. Skaggs said hopes to miss only one start. OF Jabari Blash and RHP Deck McGuire were recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, with INF Kaleb Cowart also optioned to Triple-A. … LHP John Lamb will undergo Tommy John surgery on his left elbow early next week. He’ll become the fourth Angels pitcher to have the procedure this season.

Mariners: Manager Scott Servais said RHP Erasmo Ramirez could begin a rehab assignment soon. Ramirez has been on the DL since May 1 because of a right teres major muscle strain in his pitching shoulder. Ramirez said is willing to pitch in relief if that’s where he’s needed.

UP NEXT

Angels RHP Jaime Barria (5-4, 3.40) will start Thursday’s series finale in place of Skaggs. Barria is making his 12th start of the season and has given up two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. LHP Marco Gonzales (8-5, 3.77) will make his 18th start for Seattle. Gonzales pitched the first complete game of his career in his last start, a 4-1 victory over Kansas City when he allowed six hits and didn’t walk a batter.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Former Florida safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson completed all of two rookie minicamp practices when Saints secondary coach Aaron Glenn predicted that defensive coordinator Dennis Allen would find a way to carve out playing time for New Orleans’ fourth-round draft choice.“It’s limitless what this player can do,” Glenn said Saturday. “We’re just excited to have him and I’m sure DA’s going to make schemes to be able to use this player, to make sure his versatility is used out there.”So much for tempering expectations for a player who hasn’t even practiced against Saints veterans yet.“He does have the speed and the mentality to go out there and play corner, but he can play nickel, he can play in the box, he can play deep safety, so you have fun with players like that Josh Allen Jersey ,” Glenn said. “I’m excited to see what all we can do with him. And plus, he has the mental capacity to be able to take all that information in and apply it right to the field.”The Saints, who entered the 2019 NFL draft without a fourth-round pick, traded up 11 spots to take the 5-foot-11, 210-pound Gardner-Johnson, who played both nickel back and safety at Florida. He intercepted nine passes for the Gators, returning three for touchdowns. Four of his interceptions — and two of his TD returns — came last season, when he also had three sacks, nine tackles for losses, two pass breakups and finished with a total of 71 tackles.During practice Saturday, Gardner-Johnson intercepted one pass and tipped another that wound up being intercepted by fellow rookie safety Saquon Hampton, a sixth-rounder out of Rutgers who was the Saints’ third overall draft choice.“It’s just exciting to know you’ve got a good player that you had rated high that’s on your team,” Glenn said. “So with (Gardner-Johnson) and Saquon, it was the same thing with both of those guys.”New Orleans already has two veteran starting safeties coming back — fourth-year pro Vonn Bell on the strong side and third-year player Marcus Williams playing deep. But the Saints have been known to employ three-safety alignments and there was not a lot of depth in that position group following the release of Kurt Coleman this offseason.Gardner-Johnson stopped short of predicting a prominent role for himself as a rookie, but didn’t sell himself short, either.“I could play immediately, but that’s on me http://www.jaguarscheapstore.com/jawaan-taylor-jersey-cheap ,” he said. “I’m just ready to get out there, have fun and make an impression.“I’m not really worried about where I’m at out there on the field, or what position,” he added. “I’m just ready to go out there and play football.”While Gardner-Johnson was gratified the Saints traded up to select him, he called that “one minor step to something better.”Glenn said the Saints sought to “stress” Gardner-Johnson during Saturday’s practice by giving him a variety of defensive back assignments on the defense, including nickel back, safety in the base defense and safety in passing situations that employed more than four defensive backs.“He’s smart, and he’s quickly picked up the installation,” Saints head coach Sean Payton noted. “You can see he’s versatile. I think he can play over the slot in the nickel role, and also as a safety.”For most of Gardner-Johnson’s Florida career, his last name was Gardner. He changed it before his senior season to honor his step-father, Brian Johnson, who had been in his life since he was about 3-years-old.“He ain’t missed a game,” Gardner-Johnson said. “He’s always been in my life. … My dad’s a basketball guy, but whatever I loved, he loved. Wherever I was at, he was at.”Gardner-Johnson also has considerable history with Glenn. They met when Glenn was helping out at an “Opening” football camp for high school standouts in Oregon. Glenn recalled that Gardner-Johnson sometimes challenged instructors who criticized him Josh Oliver Jersey , but not in a disrespectful way.“When we butted heads, I thought that was cool that he stood up for himself,” Glenn said, adding that he kept in touch with Gardner-Johnson during his college career. “I’d always text him. It was funny how these things come around. You know, the world is round, man, and he ended up coming to us. So, it’s a good deal.”Notes: Payton said he has not heard from NFL headquarters regarding possible disciplinary action against defensive tackle David Onyemata, who received a misdemeanor marijuana citation early this offseason. Onyemata could be suspended up to four games, but Payton said, “I don’t know that that’s going to happen,” and added that the Saints are preparing for the season as if Onyemata won’t miss any action.

The grants are part of a $20 million commitment from the NFL and its teams to social justice organizations during the 2018 calendar year. The $20 million is comprised of grants to organizations from the NFL Foundation Chuma Edoga Jersey , social justice grants approved by the NFL owners-players working group, team and player contributions, and an ongoing financial commitment to the Players Coalition. The league and the players established a working relationship in October 2017 following player demonstrations for social justice during the national anthem — a topic that drew attention from President Donald Trump. The funding will be awarded to organizations with a focus on education and economic advancement, police and community relations, and criminal justice reform. The organizations include Alliance for Safety and Justice, Campaign for Black Male Achievement, Civil Rights Corps, Gideon’s Promise and Vera Institute of Justice. In addition to the grants awarded, the NFL Foundation has awarded 429 matching social justice grants to 247 current and former NFL players over the past year, totaling more than $1.2 million. Players including Mark Ingram, Anthony Levine and Alan Page received grants to support local organizations. BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Browns‘ playoff odds remain immense, nearly impossible.Gregg Williams’ chances, on the other hand, have improved.Since being elevated to Cleveland’s interim coach when Hue Jackson was fired on Oct. 29 http://www.jetsauthorizedshops.com/authe...-trevon-wesco-jersey , Williams, the team’s in-your-grill defensive coordinator, has guided the Browns to four wins — two on the road — and has a team that didn’t win once last season playing meaningful December games, believing anything is possible.Seven weeks ago, Williams was a long-shot candidate. He now looks like a serious one.“He deserves credit for a lot of stuff that’s going on now, just the fire and the energy that he’s bringing to this team has been incredible,” Browns wide receiver Breshad Perriman said Monday, two days after a 17-16 win in Denver. “I feel like you can’t put a limit for the amount of credit you give him.”Williams has won over his players, who feel his attention to detail and demand for accountability has brought out the best in them. He’s also endeared himself to a segment of battle-scarred Cleveland fans, who would hate to see Williams leave and prosper elsewhere after his successful substitute stint.General manager John Dorsey, who is heading the team’s coaching search, will interview Williams for the full-time job once the season ends. Until then, the 60-year-old Williams won’t discuss his future. The gregarious coach loves to talk — about anything. But with two games to go, Williams is not going to address his interest in coaching the Browns (6-7-1) in 2019 and beyond.“I appreciate to answer that, and all honesty Clelin Ferrell Jersey , I do not think it is fair to the players or to anybody here,” he said. “The most important thing is making sure that these guys understand how we continue to win and how we get ready for the Bengals (on Sunday). Really. When they see the mindset is that way — that is the way that my mindset has always been. We will talk about that at the end.”There is no denying Williams’ impact in less than two months. The Browns were in shambles when he took over, headed toward further disgrace. But Williams has helped salvage this season — Cleveland is technically still alive for a wild-card spot — while providing a glimpse of a future that hasn’t looked nearly this promising in years.Williams has more wins in six weeks than Jackson got in 40. He has demanded, and the Browns have responded.“I just think it was just more attention to detail, and just us in the locker room just not letting all the outside elements affect us and affect how we play,” said safety Jabrill Peppers. “It would have been easy to crumble and blame everything else that was going on, but we stuck together, fought it out and we’re on the cusp of having our first winning season around here in a long time, so everything falls how it may.”Peppers said he didn’t have any “ill will” toward Jackson, but indicated the Browns have been better prepared by Williams, who stresses competition at all times.“We just practice real-game situations competitively now instead of having the game be the first time that situation arises,” Peppers said. “Let’s say it’s a two-minute drive, instead of the game being that first time our offense goes into two-minute mode, we do it in practice — competitive. We’re the ultimate competitors, so we all want to win that period http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/au...c-josh-jacobs-jersey , both offensively and defensively. I think that’s been the main thing that he’s brought that helps us win.”It’s possible that Dorsey, who recently celebrated his one-year anniversary with the Browns, already has his next coach in mind — his wish list may include former Packers coach Mike McCarthy and Oklahoma’s Lincoln Riley — and there may be nothing Williams can do to dissuade him from selecting another coach. However, if Cleveland wins its last two games and finishes with a winning record for the first time since 2007, Williams could make it very difficult for Dorsey not to hire him. That once seemed a far-fetched scenario. Turns out, it may not be far off.NOTES: Rookie CB Denzel Ward has not yet cleared concussion protocol. He has missed the past two games. … Peppers and his teammates were motivated by meeting former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, who spoke to the team on Friday in Denver. “That was probably one of the dopest moments since I’ve been in the league,” Peppers said. “It was just a good experience, man, and his message really hit home. It gave me that extra little oomph that I needed for prime time.” Peppers had an interception, and his first NFL sack in the closing minutes clinched Cleveland’s win.

ORCHARD PARK D.K. Metcalf Jersey , N.Y. (AP) — including first-round selection Ed Oliver, while veteran quarterback Derek Anderson is retiring after 14 seasons. The Bills announced the signings and Anderson informed the NFL of his retirement on Thursday, a day before opening their rookie minicamp.Anderson’s decision to retire comes as a surprise, after the 35-year-old signed a one-year contract a day after Buffalo closed its season. The Bills lured him out of semi-retirement in October to serve as an experienced backup to then-rookie Josh Allen.Anderson started two games in place of an injured Allen before being sidelined with a concussion. This season Cody Barton Jersey , he was projected to be Buffalo’s third-string quarterback, behind Matt Barkley, and serve as Allen’s mentor. The Bills added a quarterback Thursday by signing Tyree Jackson, an undrafted free agent out of the University at Buffalo.Oliver is a defensive tackle out of Houston, and drafted ninth overall two weeks ago.Buffalo also signed second-round pick http://www.cardinalsauthorizedshops.com/...ic-zach-allen-jersey , offensive tackle Cody Ford, as well as running back Devin Singletary, the first of the team’s two third-round picks. We’re used to NBA players pulling out mouth pieces and complaining to refs all the time. Not a game goes by without LeBron crying about fouls and being rewarded with 20 trips to the line. This is so common in the NBA that it appears to be encouraged and rewarded when it happens. The NFL should not be like this.Despite that http://www.panthersfootballauthentic.com...tle-jersey-authentic , the NFL has several crybabies that will belly ache about calls, complain about other teammates, complain about other teams or bust out with any manner of childish freakout. We’ve seen this time and again on the practice field, on the playing field and off the field completely. Some of these players are rewarded for their soft Will Grier Jersey , annoying, and ridiculous weeping; some are ridiculed for that behavior.Crybabies in the NFL also have their own archetype. You don’t see a ton of offensive lineman, punters or long snappers that are complaining divas. No, the typical NFL crybaby tends to be a quarterback www.panthersfootballauthentic.com/christ...ler-jersey-authentic , wide receiver or some other glamor position that enables the crybaby with attention and a sense of self-importance. In looking at it, we can’t rule out starpower either because most of these guys are notable in one way or another – either for their ability to perform or some other notorious aspect that gives them the attention they so desperately need. Here are 15 current players in the NFL that have very strong crybaby genes in their DNA. As mentioned, they are mostly skill position players like quarterbacks and wide receivers but there’s a few guys in there that might also surprise you. FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have drafted running back Tony Pollard of Memphis as a potential backup for two-time NFL rushing champion Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys took Pollard with the 128th overall pick in the fourth round Saturday. Dallas considered the spot behind Elliott an offseason priority after not bringing back seldom-used Rod Smith.Pollard also has potential as a return man after tying the FBS career record with seven kickoff returns for touchdowns.Although owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said a multipurpose back wasn’t a requirement for Elliott’s backup Jordan Scarlett Jersey , Pollard fits that bill as well. He had 552 yards rushing with six touchdowns and 458 yards receiving with three more scores as a junior at Memphis. All three of Dallas’ picks skipped their senior seasons to enter the draft. Central Florida defensive tackle Trysten Hill was the club’s top pick at 58th overall in the second round. Offensive lineman Connor McGovern of Penn State went 90th overall in the third round.

Now the Miami Dolphins need a new quarterback.Miami traded Tannehill on Friday to the Tennessee Titans in a deal that also involved draft picks. The Dolphins sent their sixth-round pick this year to the Titans for a fourth-round choice in 2020 and a seventh-round pick in April.Tannehill’s sports agency tweeted that as part of the trade Will Grier Jersey , he signed a one-year deal with the Titans. He will replace Blaine Gabbert as the backup to Marcus Mariota. General manager Jon Robinson said Friday that Gabbert will be released.Tannehill turns 31 in July, and his departure from Miami had been expected. He became the starting quarterback as a rookie in 2012 and has still never taken a postseason snap. His contract was to balloon to $18.7 million in base salary this year, and he would have counted $26.6 million against the salary cap. The Dolphins are picking up $5 million of his $7 million salary, but will save $8 million on the cap this year and $25 million on the cap in 2020.This season Tannehill will count $18.4 against the Miami cap, but he will not count anything against the 2020 cap.Tannehill tweeted:“To the @Titans fans, I couldn’t be more excited to get to work! Always hear such great things about Nashville and cant wait to be a part of what the organization is building…let’s go!!! #TitanUp”The Dolphins are seeking their quarterback of the future under new coach Brian Flores. They have the 13th choice in the April draft, and might devote their first-round pick to a QB for only the second time since 1984.As a stopgap, Miami is also in the market for a veteran. Free agent Teddy Bridgewater met Wednesday night with the Dolphins to discuss playing for his hometown team, but decided to remain Drew Brees’ backup in New Orleans.Gabbert, signed last offseason, went 2-1 as a starter with the Titans but couldn’t win the one game they needed to reach the postseason in the regular-season finale.Tannehill www.panthersauthorizedshops.com/authenti...istian-miller-jersey , 42-46 as a starter, missed all of 2017 with a knee injury, and sat out five games last year with an injury to his throwing shoulder. He said at the end of 2018 he wanted to remain with the Dolphins. But owner Stephen Ross fired coach Adam Gase and ordered a roster overhaul while acknowledging it may take several seasons to build a winner.Miami went 7-9 last year and ranked next to last in the NFL in yards, worst in franchise history.Tennessee, meanwhile, adds an injury-prone quarterback to the one it has. Mariota, the second overall pick in the 2015 draft, never has played a full NFL season and is 27-28 as a starter. The Titans this week also acquired free agent defensive end Cameron Wake, who made the Pro Bowl five times with Miami. Wake has 97 sacks and was a 2012 All-Pro, but figures to be more of a situational player in Nashville. NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Saints have no time to waste if they want to win another Super Bowl with record-setting quarterback Drew Brees under center — which is why three of their top four 2019 draft slots have already been traded away. The Saints aren’t slated to pick until late in the second round — 62nd overall — because they largely mortgaged the top of this year’s draft in hopes of winning it all last season.New Orleans traded this year’s first-round pick last year in order to move up and select defensive end Marcus Davenport. The Saints gave up their 2019 third-round pick in a trade for reserve quarterback Teddy Bridgewater late in the 2018 preseason. And in the middle of last season, they exchanged this year’s fourth-round pick for cornerback Eli Apple. It nearly paid off. But less than a week after Brees turned 40 Jordan Scarlett Jersey , the Saints fell to the Rams in an NFC title game tainted by officials’ decisions not to throw flags against Los Angeles for a hit to the head of a Saints receiver on a play that also could have been called pass interference.Without the benefit of either call, the Saints settled for a late go-ahead field goal that left the Rams enough time to tie the game before winning in overtime. That left New Orleans to wonder, “what if?” as the Rams fell to New England in the Super Bowl.Yet, as bitterly as the offseason began, it has steadily become more hopeful in the early weeks of a new league year.New Orleans has been able to keep most of its contending 2018 team together for another run at a Super Bowl. And the Saints moved quickly in free agency to add projected replacements for the few veterans who’ve left. When running back Mark Ingram and defensive end Alex Okafor left as free agents, New Orleans signed running backs Latavius Murray and Malcom Brown, as well as defensive end Mario Edwards. When center Max Unger retired, the Saints signed center Nick Easton. So the Saints won’t have many holes to fill in this draft, but will nonetheless want to find a few rookies capable of contributing right away. Having the depth to withstand a few untimely injuries sometimes makes all the difference in a title run. Some key story lines surrounding the Saints’ 2019 draft.THIN INTERIORAn area of immediate concern is along the interior defensive line, where 2016 first-round draft choice Sheldon Rankins is recovering from an Achilles tendon tear, David Onyemata is facing a possible suspension of up to four games for a misdemeanor marijuana citation and Tyeler Davison left in free agency. If all goes well David Montgomery Jersey , Rankins and Onyemata will both be back and in form by the second month of the season, but that’s no easy forecast at this point. Recovery from an Achilles tendon injury can be tricky. Davison’s decision, which came less than two weeks before the draft, might be the bigger blow. He was a solid role player who started 43 games in the past three seasons. So if a desirable defensive tackle is available, expect the Saints to take a hard look. Possibilities are Dre’mont Jones of Ohio State and Gerald Willis of Miami.BLOCKING MATTERSThe Saints sought to bolster their offensive line depth in last year’s draft, selecting Florida State offensive tackle Rick Leonard and LSU interior lineman Will Clapp. But Leonard never made the active roster and ultimately was cut from the practice squad. And while the Saints have been encouraged by the development of interior lineman Cameron Tom, an undrafted rookie in 2017, they still have ample reasons to consider drafting more blockers this season. Guard Andrus Peat, a 2015 first-round draft choice, is in his last season under contract, while left tackle Terron Armstead http://www.bearsauthorizedshops.com/auth...-riley-ridley-jersey , one of the highest-paid players on the team, has had trouble staying healthy.CATCHING ONSaints coach Sean Payton, who designs and calls the offense, is always on the lookout for reliable receivers — and might need another one in 2019. Beyond 2018 All-Pro Michael Thomas, the Saints have questions at the position. Cameron Meredith, a top free-agent target a year ago, struggled to come back from knee surgery in his first season in New Orleans; Tre’Quan Smith is coming off a rookie season that showed promise in sometimes magnificent bursts, but lacked consistency; and Ted Ginn Jr., who was sidelined much of last season by a knee injury, is 34 and entering his 13th season.DEFENDING DEEPNew Orleans cut ties with veteran safety Kurt Coleman, a top free-agent target in 2018 Jonah Williams Jersey , after one season. Payton has expressed confidence in young safeties Vonn Bell and Marcus Williams, and the Saints have brought back reserve Chris Banjo, but there is room for another player in the rotation. Meanwhile, Williams’ trajectory is unclear. After a promising rookie season highlighted by four interceptions in the regular season and one in the postseason, he intercepted two passes in 2018.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs‘ starting pitchers may not be performing as consistent as they would like www.panthersauthorizedshops.com/authenti...istian-miller-jersey , but Joe Maddon’s offense is finding ways to make up for it.
Mike Montgomery in Friday’s series opener against the Minnesota Twins. Now, as Tyler Chatwood takes the mound in Saturday’s matinee interleague game at Wrigley Field, the Cubs will push for their third straight victory after they rallied for their second consecutive come-from-behind win Friday at Wrigley Field.

Russell’s blast erased a three-run deficit en route to a 10-6 victory that included home runs by Jason Heyward, Ben Zobrist and Kyle Schwarber. The win came a day after the Cubs scored seven runs in the seventh inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The run support could be big for Chatwood, who has struggled throughout the season and will make his first start after being activated off the paternity list earlier this week. Chatwood told reporters Friday that he feels good and that he was able to come in and throw a bullpen session as he prepared for Saturday’s start.

He admitted the uncertainty of when his wife would give birth weighed on him in his last start. Chatwood (3-5, 3.95 ERA) has taken no-decisions in four of his past five starts but was effective in his most recent outing. Chatwood allowed a run and two hits in five innings against the Dodgers when he threw 101 pitches. He is 0-2 in three career starts against the Twins with a 6.91 ERA.

“Luckily Jordan Scarlett Jersey , everything worked out,” Chatwood said Friday of the week’s events, according to the Chicago Tribune. “Everybody’s good.”

Chatwood will start after the Cubs hoped Yu Darvish could return from a right triceps injury on Saturday. Darvish, who experienced pain in a bullpen session on Thursday, flew to Dallas for a second opinion. Tests showed he has a right elbow impingement and inflammation and will be re-evaluated in three to five days.

The Twins, who have lost six of their last eight games despite Joe Mauer’s five RBIs in Friday’s loss David Montgomery Jersey , will attempt to get back on track when left-hander Adalberto Mejia makes his first start of the season. Mejia, who went 4-7 with a 4.50 ERA in 21 starts last year, has spent the entire season in the minor leagues.

Mejia pitched well at Triple-A Rochester and struck out 50 and registered a 2.74 ERA in 49 1/3 innings. He has posted a 4-1 record in June with a 1.41 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 32 innings. Mejia will face the Cubs for the first time in his career.

The Twins announced this week that they would recall Mejia at a time that manager Paul Molitor said makes sense for everyone involved.

“The reports have been his command has been much better,” Molitor told reporters earlier this week, according to the team’s official website. “More efficient. His off-speed seems to be working. His changeup is the only pitch that’s been hot and cold. His fastball-slider command has been really good. He’s had a handful of good outings in a row. Efficient is good.”

The Offensive Rookie of the Year Award went to a player that was selected in the fourth round, 135th overall pick of this draft. The purpose of every year is to bring home the Lombardi trophy. Sure Gary Jennings Jr. Jersey , some teams temper expectations and understand that Rome wasn't built in a day, that their quest for the Lombardi is active but doesn't end that year. For most though success is expected quickly, and its not uncommon to go from contender to top 10 pick to contender, sometimes with entirely different rosters and coaching staffs. In short, a team is in a constant state of "rebuild," maintaining the players they've chosen well and replacing the choices they aren't happy with. For some a "rebuild" is as minor as fixing one or two positions. For others its a complete overhaul of the players and culture. This list contains a mix of both.So without further ado, here are 15 NFL Teams Who Will Need To Rebuild In The Next Five Years.
It’s been a week full of injuries, as more and more pitchers hit the disabled list, making arms a premium once again for Fantasy owners.

He’s not a pitcher, but Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez headlines the list of injured players, as the catcher will miss 3-4 weeks for the second straight season.

There are names like John Hicks, Austin Romine, Tucker Barnhart and Tom Murphy who deserve to be owned in Sanchez’ absence. Now http://www.seahawkscheapshops.com/cheap-...c-phil-haynes-jersey , let’s look at some pitchers to help hold down your rotation.

PLAYERS TO PICK UP

ZACH EFLIN, SP, Philadelphia Phillies (42 percent owned in Yahoo) – First it was Nick Pivetta, now it’s Zach Eflin. The Phillies are having pitchers who were no more than a healthy arm last season turn into legit standouts. Eflin increased his velocity this year, and he’s adding more swings and misses than a season ago. Like Pivetta, it’s smart to grab him before everyone else in your league takes notice.

ZACK WHEELER, SP, New York Mets (12 percent) – Like Jacob deGrom earlier this season, the Mets struggle to win games for Wheeler. That’s OK, though, as he is holding his own as of late with a reasonable ERA and a good strikeout rate. He won’t live up to the prospect hype that he had when he was moving through the system, but he can be a useful pitcher for your Fantasy roster.

SHANE BIEBER, SP Ugo Amadi Jersey , Cleveland Indians (57 percent) – Bieber was thought to be a guy who wouldn’t register big strikeout numbers, but would help Fantasy owners out in ERA, WHIP and Wins. Well, in a small sample, he’s averaging more than a strikeout per inning. Add him wherever he’s available.

ADALBERTO MONDESI, OF, Kansas City Royals (1 percent) – Speed is hard to find. Kevin Kiermaier was a suggested pickup last week as a multi-category contributor, but Mondesi is a deep-league add if you’re desperate for speed.

TWO-START PITCHERS TO STREAM

BRENT SUTER, SP, Milwaukee Brewers (39 percent) – It’s not a great week for two-start pitchers, and Suter underachieved in a juicy matchup against the Royals on Wednesday. He’s worth running out again, though, as he gets the Twins and the Braves in a two-start matchup.

KYLE GIBSON http://www.bengalsauthorizedshops.com/au...c-drew-sample-jersey , SP, Minnesota Twins (34 percent) – Speaking of failing to capitalize, Gibson struggled against the White Sox on Wednesday. Forget that start, though, as he’s been a quality start machine this year. He’ll face a less-than-favorable team in the Brewers in his first start, but he’ll wrap the week up against Baltimore, who struggled mightily against right-handed pitching.

NATHAN EOVALDI, SP, Tampa Bay Rays (7 percent) – Eovaldi impressed this week against the Nationals, allowing just one hit over six innings. He has a date with the Marlins and Mets next week; both of which are terrific matchups.

HITTERS TO STREAM

SCOTT SCHEBLER, OF, Cincinnati Reds (22 percent) – Jesse Winker is starting to come around for the Reds, but Schebler has been the 22nd-best outfielder in Yahoo leagues over the past 30 games as the leadoff hitter for the Reds.

LOGAN MORRISON http://www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com/trayvon-mullen-jersey , 1B, Minnesota Twins (13 percent) – The Twins have seven games next week in Milwaukee and against the Orioles‘ bad pitching staff. There’s only one lefty on the slate, which means Morrison is a sneaky streamer to get in your lineup.

ALEN HANSON, 2B/OF, San Francisco Giants (5 percent) – Hanson has been playing regularly for the Giants, and he’s a contributor across multiple categories, with his standout category being batting average. With three games in Colorado and four more against the all-of-the-sudden questionable St. Louis rotation, Hanson could fill the stat sheets for Fantasy owners.

Teams make mistakes all the time Khari Willis Jersey , unfortunately 15 teams made poor decisions this offseason. it comes to free agency, considering players can come off the boards at any moment. Unfortunately, with that rush to get a player before another team, some teams may not fully think decisions through. And of course, there are teams who may believe a player is a right fit, although there’s a better fit out there.Pressure from fans, players, coaches, and other people around the league. It’s uncontrollable, it’s the Super Bowl for those in the front office. While the season goes on and these guys can sit back and relax a little bit Josh Allen Jersey , players go out and play their hearts out. Everything the front office works on to bring guys to the team, and drafting guys all lead up to the season. And then, there’s those players who may be a decent fit, but the price tag may not necessarily fit what the players actually deserve. So, instead of just looking at the bad decisions that these teams made, we’re also going to look at the better player that these teams should have signed. During the offseason, there’s always other options, and sometimes it may be the lesser talented player. Because you never know if the lesser talented player fits better in your system, even if they don’t have as great of an impact as you need. There’s so many logistics that go into these decisions, so let’s just look at some players that teams shouldn’t have signed Parris Campbell Jersey , and who they should’ve signed instead. RENTON, Wash. (AP) — There was no chance the phone call intended for D.K. Metcalf was someone pulling a prank. Not when it was a video call and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was on the other end.“I was amazed, kind of shocked. But I had to realize that was my teammate and I wasn’t a fan anymore,” Metcalf said.If Metcalf needed a welcome to the NFL moment, it arrived when his new quarterback reached out to welcome him to the Seattle. And it has continued during Metcalf’s first weekend with the Seahawks during their rookie camp where the wide receiver has been the star attraction. At 6-foot-4 and nearly 230 pounds, he’s hard to miss. Throw in a handful of leaping catches through the first two days — albeit against defenders being told not to make plays on the ball — and it’s easy to see what made Seattle so attracted to Metcalf.Asked what excites him most about his new wide receiver, Pete Carroll said: “Well, it’s almost like, what doesn’t, you know?”“He’s big and he’s fast. He’s got really good feet http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/auth...bobby-okereke-jersey , you know, and his catching range was exhibited today for a start,” Carroll continued. “And you know, we’ve got to figure it out, figure out where it is, maybe even more unique than we thought coming in. So we just develop it as we go. But big and really fast and the catching range was really obvious.”Even his new teammates are a little in awe of what Metcalf can bring. Defensive back Ugo Amadi was taken in the fourth round and once tried to convince Metcalf to go to Mississippi when they were in high school. He used “monster” and “freak” to describe Metcalf.“I used to go up against him in high school, we used to go to camps together, he was that big in high school and I was still my size,” the 5-9 Amadi said. “He’s going to be definitely a threat when the season comes.”Metcalf’s pre-draft workouts sent the league buzzing with his 4.33 40-yard dash, but his draft slide created even more attention. Expected to potentially go in the first round Khari Willis Jersey , Metcalf ended up being selected with the 64th pick in the second round after Seattle traded up to select the big wide receiver Carroll has long coveted. The selection ended an uneasy wait for Metcalf and the emotion came pouring out in his phone call with Carroll and general manager John Schneider. But all of that is in the past. Seattle’s rookie minicamp is the beginning of Metcalf proving the concerns which caused him to slide on draft boards were unfounded.“Just be me. I don’t have to prove anything to anybody. I’m just going to be myself,” Metcalf said.Route running has been one of the criticisms Metcalf has faced. He spent a significant amount of time before the draft working with wide receivers coach Jerry Sullivan in Arizona. The 74-year-old Sullivan coached wide receivers for six NFL teams beginning in 1992 and ending in 2016 with Jacksonville. It didn’t take long for Metcalf to respect what Sullivan had to say after mentioning two of the receivers he had coached were Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald.Metcalf said there were little tips from Sullivan — like being more decisive in his breaks — that he has tried to show in his first days with Seattle.Carroll wasn’t as concerned about the route running. His initial focus was on Metcalf’s feet and whether what showed on film matched what he saw in person.“You know, sometimes the bigger guys the feet just don’t move as quick. His feet were really, really lightning quick and it showed it out here already,” Carroll said. “So that means that the potential is there to make him an excellent releaser. He’s already going to be really strong and using his hands, getting off the ball, but to have that combination, when we get a chance to tie it all together, it should be a really good package.”

Major League Baseball on Friday because of a scuffle that followed a collision at home plate.

Joe Torre Marquise Brown Jersey , MLB’s chief baseball officer, announced the suspensions, along with undisclosed fines.

Chirinos was not in the Rangers’ lineup Friday night for a series opener at home against Colorado, and the team said he was serving his suspension. Kemp is appealing his suspension, and was in the lineup for Los Angeles’ game against San Francisco.

Kemp said he was surprised by the punishment and he appealed because he disagrees with it.

”Nothing happened,” he said. ”Just a little pushing. I’ve seen way worse happen. So I guess we’ll see what they decide http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/aut...ylon-ferguson-jersey , but I don’t agree with it.”

Kemp was trying to score from second base on a two-out single by Enrique Hernandez in the third inning of Wednesday night’s game at Dodger Stadium. Chirinos caught a pinpoint throw by right fielder Nomar Mazara and had his glove out to tag Kemp, who barreled into the catcher with his arms up and leading with his shoulder. Chirinos’ helmet flew off as both he and Kemp fell to the ground.

Both benches and bullpens cleared after Chirinos and Kemp got up and shoved each other. Kemp was restrained by Rangers starter Cole Hamels.

No punches were thrown, but Chirinos and Kemp were both ejected.

”I think you can debate who instigated that confrontation,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. ”There wasn’t a punch thrown on (Kemp’s) part. So I think, obviously, emotions on both sides. It’s old-school baseball and both teams move forward.”

Rules have been put in place to outlaw runners from plowing into catchers Miles Boykin Jersey , and catchers have to give runners a lane to the plate in most cases. On this play, the throw home took Chirinos directly into Kemp’s path.

In a series of moves before Friday’s game, the Rangers recalled catcher Jose Trevino from nearby Double-A Frisco even though they played with only 24 players because of the suspension.

Carlos Perez started behind the plate in place of Chirinos, but Perez rolled his right ankle while extending to catch a wide throw from the outfield in the second. Perez finished the inning in the field, but Trevino made his big league debut when he batted for Perez in the bottom half and remained in the game at catcher.

Texas placed right-handed relievers Matt Bush (right elbow strain) and Chris Martin (right calf strain) on the 10-day disabled list. Martin felt a twinge in his leg when running out of the bullpen Wednesday night at the start of the scuffle.

The Rangers also recalled right-hander Yohander Mendez from Triple-A Round Rock to start Friday night’s game, a day after infielder Hanser Alberto was sent back to Round Rock. Lefty reliever Brandon Mann was also recalled.

Mazara was a late scratch from the Texas lineup because of left wrist soreness.

It's extremely difficult to accurately predict who will be in the Super Bowl at the beginning of each season. Although there are always the likely suspects (i.e. www.packerscheapshoponline.com/cheap-aut...ll-savage-jr.-jersey , Patriots, Steelers, etc.), no team is immune from major injuries or roster shake-ups. Every year there are surprise teams that make a run out of nowhere to reach the Super Bowl; the Philadelphia Eagles are a perfect example of that. The Jacksonville Jaguars shocked the league to finish one game away from playing in their first Super Bowl ever last season as well. The point is, nobody knows! While it's difficult to determine who will be in the Super Bowl at the beginning of each year, it's nearly impossible to determine when a team will make their next Super Bowl appearance. But that is what I'm going to attempt to do here as I take my best stab at the prediction process. Many of you will not be happy to hear what I think of your favorite team and their chances to make a Super Bowl in the next decade or so. Some of you may be pleasantly surprised at when your team will next appear. The important thing to remember about this list http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/aut...-justice-hill-jersey , however, is that it is creates numerous hypothetical situations that are almost surely not to happen, yet are fun to imagine at the same time. So, will your team be playing in a Super Bowl next year? Within the next 10 years? Within your lifetime? Read below to find out.

We’re a few weeks into the 2018 season Michael Jordan Jersey , and there’s so much to look at. Once the season gets further in, that’s when fans and analysts really start making their conclusions. But once teams get on a roll, you’re seeing their true colors begin to come out. Then you've got second-year players, whose true colors are about to come out.Analysts hate to judge rookies http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/au...unter-renfrow-jersey , but start to really criticize players in their second year. At that point, you can’t use the excuses that rookies can. These players are then treated like any other player, which is still pretty harsh, considering they're still very young players. So, a few weeks into the new season Zach Brown Jersey , let’s take a look at how the second-year players are performing.Expectations grow, but they don’t always hit them. Some of these players played so well in their rookie season, and just can’t repeat the success they had last season. Those things happen, as other teams had the opportunity to watch film on upcoming players for a full season. This gives other teams the opportunity to adjust to these players, and find their weaknesses. Some players continue to grow and learn to work around that Shareef Miller Jersey , while other players fall into the hole and struggle. Many times, star status in the NFL doesn’t last long. Just because you have one really good season, doesn’t make you a really good player. It’s very unique to see the way the NFL works. JaMarcus Russell. Ryan Leaf. Tim Couch. These guys are some of the most notorious draft busts in NFL history. They came into the league with all the hype in the world, only to collapse under the weight of insurmountable expectations. However, there are several NFL players whose struggles were no fault of their own. Many players show great promise for certain teams or coaches Devin Bush Jersey , only to have their production plummet after new coaches take over. Sometimes, a promising young rookie just can’t get on his coach’s good side. Other times, a coach simply won’t adjust his system to suit certain players. It’s not just a coach’s poor handling of his personnel. A key responsibility of a coaching staff is to respect the players and foster a positive team environment. Failing to stick up for an embattled player, or worse, publicly humiliating him www.steelersauthorizedshops.com/authenti...ontae-johnson-jersey , could just as easily ruin a career as a season-long benching could. These aren’t players whose vices got the best of them (like Greg Hardy) , nor are they guys who simply couldn’t cut it at the NFL level (like Tim Tebow). These are 15 NFL players whose careers were ruined by poor coaching decisions.

The Raiders last made the playoffs in 2003 and haven’t had a winning season since Will Harris Jersey , coming closest with an 8-8 record in both 2010 and 2011. With eight top 10 picks since 2004 and very little to show for it, one is left wondering what might have been had management and ownership made some more informed decisions at the draft. Of course hindsight is 20-20, but the beauty of counterfactual thinking is that it allows us to imagine a world in which the errors of the past were corrected. What sort of dynasty might exist if these series of first round failures and botched trades had gone down differently?Playing the part of a wiser general manager, I undertake the task of redrafting every Raiders first round pick since 2001. Keep in mind Austin Bryant Jersey , the Raiders were actually quite successful in the early 2000s, with a string of postseason appearances, two AFC Championship games, and their Super Bowl loss to Tampa Bay in the 2002-03 season. This makes those picks less disastrous since they fell late in the first round. However Rashan Gary Jersey , there was still talent available that fell further and I examine just how strong this team could have been. One final note: the Raiders made a couple of ill-advised trades in 2011 that resulted in no first round picks in either 2011 or 2012. I still examine those years, pointing out some guys that could have been good selections had the Raiders retained those picks, but I make no official selections since the picks didn't exist. This list primarily examines replacement options for players actually drafted by the Raiders, seeking to construct the ultimate Oakland Raiders fantasy roster. Given that the 2015 draft class has yet to prove themselves on the field Darnell Savage Jr. Jersey , we'll leave that group alone and assume that the Raiders' selection of Amari Cooper will pay off. With all that in mind, here are the draft choices that should/could have been. There is set to be a slew of high-profiles names ready to hit the free agent market for the National Football League's 2017 offseason and it's always fun to figure out where each will land based on every team's needs. In all likelihood, some of these players will get locked up by their own teams before hitting the open market and talking to other teams. For others, the murky waters of free agency are inevitable Elgton Jenkins Jersey , which could lead to a new home for these players for years to come. Not only do we have some nice role players on this list who can help an offense or defense, but there are also some real studs who can change a franchise simply by suiting up. A perfect example of a guy with star ability that could jump ship is wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who may want out of Chicago with the franchise in rebuild mode.Other players like running backs Terrance West and Latavius Murray, as well as tight end Martellus Bennett are pieces that can help put an offense that is close to being great over the top. Unfortunately for teams looking for a quarterback Jace Sternberger Jersey , only Kirk Cousins made the top 15 - unless your team wants to convert Terrelle Pryor back to quarterback - and is likely to be locked up by the Washington Redskins at season's endLet's find out if your team is one of the lucky ones to snatch a player off this list, as we not only look at the top-15 free agents next year but also where they will land.

CHICAGO — At times this season Jace Sternberger Jersey , the Chicago Cubs have struggled to produce offensively, especially when it comes to situational hitting that turned hits into runs.

But as the Cubs prepare to open a brief two-game series against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday at Wrigley Field, any concerns about run production seems to have subsided. At least for now.

after producing 46 runs during their winning streak, which they extended with an 11-10 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.

Although the bullpen struggled to protect leads at times, the Cubs’ bats did more than their fair share. Now, the Cubs will attempt to remain hot against the Tigers, who have won two straight but have lost 11 of their last 13 games.

The Tigers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 on Monday.

After Sunday’s victory, the Cubs found themselves leading the majors in hitting (.266) and on-base percentage (.345). Despite the times this season when the hits weren’t coming Dexter Williams Jersey , the Cubs haven’t experienced any change in confidence now that they’re averaging more than 10 per game in their last four games.

“We’ve been the same offense for quite some time now,” Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber said Sunday, according to the Chicago Tribune. “Things happen. We’re just going to keep this going.”

Cubs pitchers have enjoyed plenty of run support of late, which is something Tuesday’s starter, Kyle Hendricks, wouldn’t mind seeing continue against the Tigers. Hendricks (5-8, 4.21 ERA) has experienced inconsistency this season and has battled his mechanics all the way through.

Hendricks went 1-4 in June and is coming off an outing in which he allowed a season-worst six runs in just 2 2/3 innings on June 27 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He hopes to right the ship in a new month against a team that has struggled offensively during their recent skid. Hendricks will face the Tigers for the first time in his career.

“I’m just searching right now — it’s just bad,” Hendricks told reporters after his last start Rock Ya-Sin Jersey , according to the team’s official website. “Mechanics, I’m trying to focus mentally and going pitch to pitch and I’m doing that, but something’s just off. I’m searching now.”

The Tigers’ back-to-back victories come after their losing streak reached a season-high 11 games. With Miguel Cabrera out for the season and other veterans like Victor Martinez struggling at the plate, manager Ron Gardenhire has been forced to work with a lineup full of young hitters.

Before snapping the skid with a victory Sunday over the Blue Jays, the Tigers finished June hitting .222.

“We’ve had a lot of struggles offensively, for sure,” Gardenhire said Sunday, according to the Detroit Free Press. “I think our pitching has held up OK. (The) bullpen had its good and bad moments. Offensively http://www.clevelandbrownsteamonline.com/anthony-zettel-jersey , we’ve really scuffled, especially the past couple week here. We all know that. Offensively, we have to get a lot better. More consistently.”

On Monday, the Tigers placed closer Shane Greene on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain. Joe Jimenez, who is considered the Tigers’ closer of the future, will move into the role for the time being, Gardenhire said. Jiménez has a 2.77 ERA, 44 strikeouts and nine walks in 42 appearances covering 39 innings.

Michael Fulmer (3-7 http://www.detroitlionsteamonline.com/jahlani-tavai-jersey , 4.20) will start Tuesday for the Tigers. Like Hendricks, Fulmer struggled in June, losing three of his five starts with a no-decision. Fulmer will face the Cubs for the first time in his career.

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is in the starting lineup against Jacksonville.

McCoy was listed as questionable to play in Sunday’s AFC wild-card game after spraining his right ankle in a victory at Miami last week. He was carted off the field, sat out two days of practice and returned in a limited capacity Friday.

The big question now is how effective he will be against one of the league’s top defenses. McCoy accounted for nearly a third of Buffalo’s offensive production in the regular season.

The Bills also will have receiver Deonte Thompson (shoulder) available. He had been listed as questionable.

The Jaguars will have receiver Marqise Lee back in the starting lineup after he missed the last two games with a sprained right ankle. Lee leads the team in receptions (56) and ranks second in yards (702).

Jacksonville will be without backup running back T.J. Yeldon, who was sick most of the week.

Also, coach Doug Marrone decided to start former Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus against his old team. The 340-pound Dareus was traded to Jacksonville for a late-round draft pick in October.

Other inactives for Buffalo: starting linebacker Matt Milano (hamstring), receiver Malachi Dupre, cornerback Shareece Wright http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/kahale-warring-jersey , offensive tackle Conor McDermott, guard John Miller, tight end Khari Lee and receiver Brandon Reilly.

Jacksonville’s remaining inactives: Receiver Montay Crockett, cornerback Jalen Myrick, defensive tackle Eli Ankou, guard Chris Reed and offensive tackles Josh Walker and William Poehls.

Blockbuster trades occur at the deadline and during free agency every season. The NFL breaks the mold in this regard. Impactful www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/lonni...son-jersey-authentic , risky trades involving players rarely transpire due to the complication of schemes and chemistry. More often than not, the most action occurs on draft day when teams package and exchange picks to maneuver around the board.Of course, the allure of landing a key player sometimes overrides the inclination to play it safe. GMs face tricky obstacles with this task. They must approach deals fairly despite a transparent desire to outsmart their trade partner. There is bound to be a clear winner and loser as time unfolds. This list covers the most lopsided dealings in the past decade. The year limit removes some of the most boneheaded trades of all time from contention. That means no Dallas dynasty built on the heels of the Herschel Walker gift that kept on giving. Mike Ditka trading his entire draft in order to pick his lovely bride, Ricky Williams, escapes judgment. Still http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/a...arquise-blair-jersey , there are a handful of moves to dissect. Here are the Top 15 Most One-Sided Trades of the Last 10 Years: Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle insists he hasn’t been keeping close tabs of his team’s slide following a hot start. He wasn’t aware the Pirates had dropped eight straight series until someone mentioned it to him earlier in the week.

”If somebody would have told me you’re going to lose eight series, you’d think you’re going to be horrible,” Hurdle said. ”We’re not horrible. We’re fighting. And we believe that our best baseball is in front of us.”

It is, at least when the Pirates play the struggling Cincinnati Reds. Josh Harrison hit a two-run homer, Colin Moran and Elias Diaz added solo shots and the Pirates pulled away for a 6-2 victory on Saturday to push their modest winning streak to three and assuring themselves of their first positive series since taking a two-game set from the Chicago White Sox a month ago.

”We know what’s happened here the past couple weeks Max Scharping Jersey ,” Harrison said. ”Guys are still plugging away and coming ready to show up every day and we’ve had three in a row. We know that doesn’t speak for what’s happened or what will happen. We’ve just got to continue to keep bringing it every day.”

Moran and Diaz both went deep off Luis Castillo (4- to give Pittsburgh the lead. Harrison hit his fourth of the season off reliever Austin Brice in the sixth. The Cincinnati native finished 2 for 4 is hitting .368 (14 for 38) against the Reds.

”Any time you can have a total offensive effort like that, it shows that we’re doing what we’re supposed to, taking advantage of mistake pitches and when presented with an opportunity to move a runner, get it done,” Harrison said.

Ivan Nova (4-5) worked through heavy traffic on a day his breaking ball abandoned him to last six innings and pick up his second victory in as many starts since returning from the 10-day disabled list with a sprained right ring finger. Nova allowed only Eugenio Suarez’s 13th home run in the second www.thetexansfootballauthentic.com/kahal...ing-jersey-authentic , striking out three while giving up three walks.

”I didn’t have the curveball today, but we grinded out there,” Nova said.

Castillo struggled keeping the ball on the right side of the fence at PNC Park, a problem that’s plagued the 25-year-old all season. He’s now allowed at least one home run in 15 of his 18 starts.

”It’s surprising because I’m trying to do my best and every time I get out there, I give up one or two home runs Cullen Gillaspia Jersey ,” Castillo said after dropping his fourth straight decision. ”I really don’t know what’s happening right now. I’m just going to keep working in the bullpen and keep doing my best trying to help.”

Rookie Brandon Dixon hit his first major league home run off Pittsburgh reliever Michael Feliz in the ninth and Jesse Winker had two of Cincinnati’s seven hits to snap out of an 0-for-13 skid, but the Reds had issues taking advantage against Nova.

Cincinnati went 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position and is now 0 for 19 with runners in scoring position in the series.

”We’ve just got to get it going,” Reds manager Jim Riggleman said. ”You go through these things. We’ve got a good offensive ball club. We’ve shown it many times. We’re just in a little funk here where we’re not getting some timely hits.”

Moran broke a tie with his fourth home run of the season and first since June 2 when he sent Castillo’s pitch into the bullpen beyond the centerfield fence leading off the second. Diaz made it 3-1 when his fifth home run led off the third.

The Reds had their opportunities against Nova. They loaded the bases in the fourth only to have Billy Hamilton ground out to first to end the threat. Scott Schebler led off the fifth with a double but couldn’t get home and Hamilton came to the plate in the sixth with two runners on only to fly out to left field.

Hamilton finished 0 for 4 as his averaged dipped to .187.

Hiestand was Chicago’s offensive line coach under Lovie Smith from 2005-09. With six-time Pro Bowl center Olin Kreutz leading the line, Hiestand oversaw a group that helped the Bears reach a Super Bowl.

He spent the past six seasons coaching Notre Dame’s offensive line. The Fighting Irish averaged 190 yards rushing during that time.

Nagy spent 10 seasons working under Andy Reid in Philadelphia and Kansas City. He was the Chiefs’ sole offensive coordinator this season.

PHOENIX — Like pitching?

features a couple starters who have had strong seasons but also should be considered under-the-radar All-Star candidates http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline...jawaan-taylor-jersey , at least for those who have not been paying close attention.

You could look it up.

Arizona left-hander Patrick Corbin and St. Louis right-hander Miles Mikolas rank in the top 10 among NL qualifiers in ERA, WHIP, WAR and innings pitched. The only statistical difference is in strikeouts, where Corbin is tied for second and Mikolas is down the pack. Mikolas compensates by pitching to contact and getting the majority of his outs on the ground.

They are compatible in one more way — each has received below-average run support. Corbin has received the fourth-fewest, 3.65 per start. Mikolas’ support checks in under the league average.

Arizona used a three-run homer from Paul Goldschmidt to take a 4-2 victory Tuesday as the teams have split the first two games of the series. Arizona will conclude a 10-game homestand with a four-game set with San Diego beginning Thursday, when the Cardinals open a four-game series in San Francisco before finishing a nine-game trip in Chicago against the White Sox.

Mikolas, 29, has been perhaps the most pleasant surprise in the major leagues this season, signing with the Cardinals over the winter after three strong seasons for the Yomiuri Giants in the Japanese Central League. He was 3-13 with a 2.18 ERA in 62 starts in Japan after being released by Texas in November 2014.

“Obviously this season he’s been fantastic,” Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. “He should be sitting on 10 wins right now. Two of the losses he had, he had us right there. He just matched up with a pitcher we couldn’t get much going against. Miles has been very good.”

Mikolas has made 11 quality starts, tied for fourth in the league. After starting the season 6-0 http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline...er-minshew-ii-jersey , he has lost three of his five decisions in June despite posting five quality starts and giving up one earned run in two of his losses.

“A guy who just attacks the strike zone,” Matheny said.

“He has very good stuff. Doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. Not afraid to use his defense. He has been just an incredible surprise for us. What a great pickup for our organization and a salute to our scouts who are finding people like Miles who are out there.

“He figured something out while he was in Japan. The way he goes about his business, not just how he competes but how he prepares, you could see that being something that sticks around for awhile.”

Mikolas and Corbin are tied for second in the league in WHIP (0.99). Mikolas is sixth and Corbin ninth in ERA and innings pitched, and Mikolas is seventh and Corbin ninth in WAR.

Each has one of the five shutouts thrown in the NL this season. Washington’s Max Scherzer, Pittsburgh’s Jameson Taillon and Atlanta’s Mike Foltynewicz have the others.

Corbin, 6-3 with a 3.14 ERA, has made two straight quality starts, giving up only one run and in 13 innings, but did not receive a decision in either game. He had extra rest the last time through the rotation after pitching seven scoreless innings while striking out 12 in a no-decision at Pittsburgh, when he threw a season-high 102 pitches. He gave up one run in six innings against San Francisco on Friday, pitching on six days’ rest.

“He (gets) into trouble http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/...ell-henderson-jersey , doesn’t get rattled, and continues to pound the zone and get big outs. He’s done a very good job,” Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said.

Jeff Mathis, one of two healthy catchers on the Arizona roster with Alex Avila on the disabled list, will catch Corbin for the third straight start.

“I like the way Jeff gets Patrick to do certain things at certain times and shows confidence in certain pitches, and helps him execute by showing that confidence,” Lovullo said. “Jeff has such respect from anyone on this staff that when he asks for something they listen.”

Corbin has received 3.65 runs per start, tied for the third fewest in the league. He is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in four career starts against St. Louis and is 4-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 10 starts at home this sesaon.

Mikolas, who spent previous major league seasons with San Diego and Texas, has never started against Arizona and has given one run in 4 1/3 innings in two career relief appearances, a Justin Upton homer in 2012. This will be his first appearance at Chase Field.

Todd Haley’s contract as the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers is up.

And coach Mike Tomlin doesn’t sound as if he’s in a rush to decide whether Haley will be back next season.

Tomlin sidestepped several attempts to endorse Haley’s return on Tuesday as the AFC North champions continued to dissect what went wrong in an upset home playoff loss to Jacksonville . Asked if he anticipated any changes to his staff, Tomlin demurred.

”I don’t know where these roads are going to lead http://www.minnesotavikingsteamonline.com/irv-smith-jr.-jersey ,” Tomlin said. ”Some contracts are up. Some aren’t. I’m not ready to discuss that.”

Haley just finished his sixth season with the Steelers and has helped design one of the NFL’s most dynamic offenses.

Led by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell and All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh (13-3) has finished in the top three in total yards in three of the past four years.

Though Haley and Roethlisberger have found a level of detente following a somewhat bumpy start to their relationship, Haley’s occasionally fiery approach has made him a touchstone when things don’t go well.

While the Steelers piled up more than 500 yards against the NFL’s top-ranked defense on Sunday, they also made a couple of curious play calls on fourth down that halted their momentum.

Bell was stuffed for a loss on a toss play when Pittsburgh needed just 1 yard in the first quarter and Roethlisberger threw incomplete to rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster on fourth down in the fourth quarter when advancing the ball a matter of inches would have extended the drive.

The Steelers, however, have gone away from using the quarterback sneak in recent years to help Roethlisberger avoid the contact.

Tomlin brushed off the notion that the sneak is no longer a part of the playbook, saying ”to suggest there’s a resistance to it in concept, I’m not ready to say that.”

Tomlin also isn’t ready to say much about his staff.

Offensive line coach Mike Munchak has interviewed for the open head coaching job in Arizona and wide receivers coach Richard Mann is retiring.

Hines Ward, a two-time Super Bowl winner who is also the leading receiver in franchise history, spent time with the team during the season as a volunteer assistant, though Tomlin declined to get into any specifics about any sort of future role for Ward or anybody else for that matter.

”I’m not going to have a lot of definitive answers (right now) http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/dexter-lawrence-jersey ,” Tomlin said. ”I don’t want to provide you misinformation.”

Tomlin called his 11th season a ”wild and challenging and fun ride.”

One with more than its fair share of bumps created from within.

From the ”botched” decision to stay out of sight during the national anthem in Chicago in September to wide receiver Martavis Bryant’s trade demand to Tomlin openly talking about having to face New England twice – hinting he expected the Steelers to face the Patriots in the AFC championship game more than a month before it would become a reality – hardly a week passed with the attention focused somewhere other than the field.

”We realize oftentimes it may create a storm around us, but that’s not us,” Tomlin said. ”We don’t care. We can’t care. We can’t control it anyway.”

Not exactly.

Outside of linebacker Ryan Shazier’s life-altering spinal injury, the Steelers created most of the noise that surrounded them.

While Tomlin said it’s on him to help his players learn to use the attention directed at them and their own social media agendas ”for good” he’s also aware that none of it matters so long as his team wins.

For a franchise where success is only measured in Lombardi Trophies, 2017 ended in disappointment, one the Steelers will have a longer than expected offseason to process.

”It ended the way it ended and looking back at it, there’s nothing we can do about that other than learn from the experience,” Tomlin said. ”Hopefully that strengthens us for our next journey.”

One the Steelers are starting earlier than expected.
