Two weeks ago in this space Mark Duper Jersey , we reported that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is undecided on the future of his football operation. As of last week, one key decision reportedly had been made. Ross now needs to make one more.V.P. of football operations Mike Tannenbaum is all but certain to be out, as Armando Salguero of the reported last week. The future of coach Adam Gase continues to be uncertain, for various reasons. Apart from Ross having a strong interest in Ravens coach John Harbaugh, the post-Tannenbaum front office could be impossible to staff, given that Gase holds full control over the football operation. And so the final day of the season has arrived, and the time has come for coaches to be fired or not fired, and as everyone looks for a surprise, some are suggesting that a Gase firing could be that surprise. While Gase may indeed be fired http://www.thedolphinslockerroom.com/aut...-mark-clayton-jersey , it definitely shouldn’t be regarded as a surprise. The surprise could be what happens next. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media suggests that Gase could be one of the top head-coaching candidates on the market, linking Gase specifically to Cleveland. That’s not as crazy as it would seem; the Browns have pursued Gase in the past. The real question becomes whether the team could sell Gase to the fan base and the local media after a pair of superficially lackluster seasons in South Florida, at a time when Gregg Williams has pulled the team to a final record of 7-8-1 or 8-7-1.Earlier this week, when discussing the future of the Cleveland coaching staff, I suggested that the best possible outcome for the Browns would be Nick Saban as head coach and Gase, a former Saban protege, as offensive coordinator. While Saban continues to sound like a guy who won’t leave Tuscaloosa, Cleveland could be Saban’s last, best chance to remove the biggest blemish from his coaching career Womens Nat Moore Jersey , and it would be fitting to see a couple of former Dolphins coaches come together in an effort to make the Browns the kind of team that could eventually threaten Miami’s 1972 perfect season. So maybe the Browns would take only Gase. His work with Ryan Tannehill was impressive. The only problem is that Tannehill couldn’t stay on the field. Baker Mayfield can, and given what Gase has done with Tannehill, Jay Cutler, Peyton Manning, and even Tim Tebow, Gase could end up being the perfect guy to harness and refine a skill set and attitude that could make Mayfield one of the best to ever play the game. The Dolphins gave running back Mark Walton a second chance, notwithstanding the fact that he has three pending criminal cases and that, at best, he’ll be No. 3 on the depth chart this season.Walton’s on-field and off-field worlds will collide this week Jordan Phillips Jersey , with a hearing in one of the prosecutions happening on the same day as the team’s mandatory minicamp.Via Adam H. Beasley of the , Walton won’t be missing practice for Wednesday hearing in his arrest on misdemeanor marijuana charges. “I will be appearing in court for Mr. Walton,” attorney Michael Gottlieb told Beasley. “He’s in constant contact with my offices. He’s an [exceptional] athlete, and I’d like to see him practice and resume his normal life as we litigate these unfortunate cases.”On Monday, a hearing will happen in a misdemeanor battery case pending against Walton, the first of three offseason arrests that eventually prompted the Bengals to cut the 2018 fourth-round draft pick. In that case, Walton stands accused grabbing a cell phone from a woman during a traffic dispute. The one case that won’t go to court this week is by far the most troubling of the three. Walton facesfelony charges of carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest without violence, marijuana possession http://www.thedolphinslockerroom.com/aut...c-jesse-davis-jersey , and reckless driving. The incident culminated in high-speed pursuit followed by a footrace that included Walton being tased and then getting up and continuing to run away from police.Miami’s decision to embrace Walton is every bit as confusing as Oakland’s recent decision to sign Richie Incognito. Usually, only significant football talent earns a second chance. As to both Walton and Incognito, it’s fair to question whether they’re good enough to get the special treatment that usually is reserved for star players.Like Incognito, Walton surely is facing a suspension from the league office for his trifecta of arrests, regardless of how the incidents are resolved by the courts.

America’s Team could soon be taking over America’s second biggest city. The Rams have issued a reminder that tickets to Saturday night’s game against the Cowboys at the L.A. Coliseuim are available to be purchased. And if Rams fans haven’t Cowboys fans definitely will.Cowboys fans don’t travel well per se; they’re simply already everywhere. The fact that they’ve had so little postseason success since winning their last Super Bowl 23 years ago is a testament to the power of the brand. But the last year the Cowboys won the Super Bowl was the first year of a two-decade NFL hiatus from L.A. Dominique Easley Jersey , and a generation of Angelenos grew up free to root for any team, including the one that squatted on a nickname that resonates from coast to coast.Remember the 2016 preseason game between the Cowboys and Rams that marked the NFL’s return to L.A.? That meaningless game had a postseason vibe. This very meaningful postseason game will have a Super Bowl vibe. And it could feel a lot like a Super Bowl being played in Dallas. And that could help Dallas secure the ability to play for a berth in the Super Bowl for the first time since January 1996. This was not what San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Shanahan had intended for his team or his offense. He had plans to build on his read-option offense, led by starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Prior to the season’s start, the San Francisco head coach was asked if defenses would figure out his read-option, especially after watching Garoppolo’s five starts in the 2017 season. “There isn’t anything to figure out,” Shanahan said during the July 2018 press conference. “It’s a very sound scheme.” It is a sound scheme http://www.theramslockerroom.com/authentic-ndamukong-suh-jersey , so long as the offense has a quarterback who can make the passes that open up against defenses trying to stop the read-topn. Not to mention that quarterback also has to be good enough to run with the football. ”It’s tough to find that guy,” Shanahan said. “And if you don’t protect him right, if you don’t do the right stuff, it is tough to stay healthy.” That guy, being Jimmy Garoppolo, tore his ACL in the third week of the season. Getting a biteThe 49ers offense doesn’t have the full power of a Garoppolo-led offense. But it’s been able to move the ball with deception. Take this play against the Bears John Franklin-Myers Jersey , for example.San Francisco lines up in the base 21-personnel while the Bears have seven men in the box. Up until this point, San Francisco had been moving the ball primarily through the running game (Nick Mullens was 4-for-8 with 24 yards leading up to this play). Off the snap, Mullens drops back for a pass while the fullback and running back fake a run to left, which draws in the linebackers. This allows Dante Pettis space for his slant route. By the time the linebackers realize it’s a pass, Pettis is open for the catch which becomes a 13-yard gain. This deception also works with play-action passes and the run game. The play-action pass was one of the more notable options for the offense during Gorroppolo’s first season with San Francisco. The option was still in use when the 49ers played Los Angeles in the first meeting of the year. The play above went for nine yards and a first down. The 49ers sell the run with a fullback in motion and the offensive line appearing to down-block left. This causes the Rams defense to bite on the run, leaving a tight end on a crossing route unattended. Ebukam Samson does his job by not overcommitting to the run. But he’s helpless against the play-action and San Francisco gets a solid gain. The 49ers kept the Rams on their heels with another play disguise. Another man is put in motion http://www.theramslockerroom.com/authentic-marcus-peters-jersey , which took a Rams’ defender out of the left side of the field. This allowed the 49ers’ Joe Staley to kick outside and take out a Marcus Peters for the big run, which was a toss left on a fake sweep right. Learning quickEventually, the San Francisco offense gets figured out. Defenses catch their breath, learn what’s going on and adapt to the situation. San Francisco’s offense in Garoppolo’s absence is like a firework — short-lived excitement. It’s why the team is 4-11 at this point in the season and why the scoring offense is near the bottom of the league (red-zone offense is dead-last). The play above is identical to the very first play shown in this piece, except it’s run on the left side of the field. While the Bears send a linebacker on the blitz, they pick up Mullens’ drop back again. The remaining linebackers stay home and run towards the target. While Marquise Goodwin makes the 7-yard catch Womens Aqib Talib Jersey , there is no YAC. This was a similar play-action pass with a man in motion (to remove a defender in the target space). But this time, everyone does their job and doesn’t bite on the misdirection. Take John Johnson, for example (top left). He picks up the tight end on the crossing route immediately off the snap and stays with him for the eventual interception. This has been a nightmare season for the 49ers. They’ve been plagued with injuries and could do only so much with the guys they had on their roster. Mullens is a great story and he will likely be a good depth quarterback in the future, whether it be in San Francisco or elsewhere.

Quarterback Matt Moore stood at the podium on Wednesday Laurent Duvernay-Tardif Jersey , gearing up for his first start since 2017 (so we think). It is an idea that could understandably be daunting to consider — especially given the 2019 Chiefs’ sky-high aspirations. But fortunately for Moore, he did see two and a half quarters on Thursday night, and after shaking off some of the cobwebs, was able to fire off a 57-yard touchdown pass down the right sideline to wide receiver Tyreek Hill.“Yeah,” said Moore, when asked if completing the throw to Hill gave him confidence. “There was a couple of nice rhythm throws before that, that kind of got it going a little bit. I’ve said it a bunch but I started a little slower than I wanted to, that was pretty evident. Obviously, you hit the big one and it gets things going. It was good.”Against the Broncos, Moore finished 10 of 19 for 117 yards — a year after he thought it was all over. After sitting out of football in 2018 when the Chiefs chose Chad Henne as their backup, Moore was helping coach high school football. Back in March, Moore could be seen in the background of a video from Kyler Murray’s pro day. He was scouting Murray for the Miami Dolphins. Now, football fans are wondering whether to start him or Murray for their Week 8 fantasy football matchup. Moore said that when he got the call from Kansas City, he felt like he had to come.“The chance to get back in the locker room with the guys, be around back in the league, coach (Reid) Terrance Smith Jersey , Patrick (Mahomes),” said Moore. “You can name a bunch of guys, all those guys are reasons. Like I said I was out for a year and I was happy but there’s things you miss as time goes on and when this opportunity came, it was something I couldn’t say no to.”And so just like that, Moore is back, and thanks to all the dominoes — Henne needing late-preseason ankle surgery and Mahomes (the NFL’s equivalent to Superman — sorry, Cam) with no choice but to sit out — he will actually start for Andy Reid. That apparently includes the complex game planning — the end-arounds, the tight end screens and the RPOs. Reid said he expects Moore to have no problem with all he asks of his quarterback on Sundays.“Since he has been here, he has just grinded to learn all of this stuff,” said Reid. “I’m not worried about that part of him going in and working. I wasn’t worried the other night. He knocked a little rust off as he went, we all saw that. I think this week of practice, him working in there and having an opportunity to at least get in and do a couple of things, would benefit him if he has to go.”“I feel good,” added Moore. “I feel really good with everything. Obviously, it’s been eight weeks here now. I’ve been studying and working and watching, so I feel good.”Moore said when he had to suddenly enter the huddle on Thursday night Khalen Saunders Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys , he told the Chiefs everything would be OK. Then the Chiefs won the game — their eighth in as many tries against Denver — and really, that is all you could ask given the situation.“I said we’re going to be fine and just let them know we’re going to be fine and showed confidence,” Moore said. “Which I was confident, but I think you have to show it at a moment like that. Then they all fired back at me and a lot of ‘Hey, yeah, we’re good.’ I don’t think I can even name anything specific. Obviously, on the sideline, you get a lot of encouragement from guys and praise in some situations. They’re trying to make me feel good which is natural on any team. It worked out good.”Working with Mahomes the past eight weeks, Moore explained that it becomes natural to want to play like him, but he can’t. But the relationship they have built provides him with a bit of self-assurance.“I actually told him the other day that I like listening to him to see if my brain matches up with his brain,” Moore said. “We all eventually see it the same way, we just kind of get there different ways. We’re constantly talking to each other and using each other in that way. Especially on game days. I kind of had to learn Pat a little bit when I first got here, like what does he like to hear, what can he use that he’s not getting and what’s my role on game days. We’re constantly talking about that stuff.”That will be critical this week, as Moore suddenly has a chance to relaunch his career — whether it be as a backup, or maybe even more.Who knows? For the Chiefs Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys 2019 , it will be just another game on what they hope is a road to the Super Bowl. But Sunday night is Moore’s Super Bowl.“I think any day in this league is an opportunity,” said Moore when asked if he is thinking along those lines. “You earn everything you get in this league, good or bad. “You constantly are playing for something so, yes, to answer your question. That could happen.” NEWTON, Iowa (AP) — Simon Pagenaud will start first in Saturday’s IndyCar race at Iowa Speedway after winning the pole for the second week in a row.Pagenaud, who won in Toronto last weekend starting from the front row, posted an average speed of 180.073 mph to capture his third pole of 2019 and his 13th overall. Will Power qualified second, followed by series leader Josef Newgarden and Takuma Sato. Defending Iowa champion James Hinchcliffe was fifth and Alexander Rossi, just four points behind Newgarden, will round out the third row.The pole winner has never won an IndyCar race at Iowa’s 0.875-mile oval in 12 tries though.“Traffic plays a big role in this race,” Pagenaud said. “It’s about having a good car in traffic, a good car on long runs. Most of the time it finishes under smash-and-dash at the end with a late yellow.”TEAM PENSKE’S POLE DOMINANCEPagenaud’s qualifying win was the fifth straight for Team Penske at Iowa and the eight in 13 tries. But the powerhouse squad has only won the race once in Newton, when Helio Castroneves notched his final IndyCar victory in 2017.“There’s very strong competition within the team. But as you can see, Team Penske is phenomenal. They give us the fastest cars,” Pagenaud said.ANDRETTI’S STRUGGLESRossi put himself into position to compete for a win on Saturday. But the rest of the Andretti Autosport team struggled Khalen Saunders Jersey Cheap , as Ryan Hunter-Reay was ninth, Marco Andretti was 18th and Zach Veach was 20th out of 22 cars. Hunter-Reay has more wins than any other driver at Iowa though, winning in 2012, 2014 and 2015.“I couldn’t really shift the balance one way or the other with the tools. I was too loose mid-corner, and then big understeer really late,” Hunter-Reay said. “It’s unfortunate, but if you have a good race car here you can make it all up.”THE HEATLike much of the country, Iowa is expected to get slammed by extreme heat on Saturday. The forecast calls for temperatures in the mid-90s when the green flag drops, with a “real feel” temperature roughly 10 degrees higher.“It tends to amplify understeer, especially in qualifying when it’s hotter. It amplifies tire wear, too. That’s the biggest thing,” Newgarden said.HE SAID IT“I’m not big into stats.” — Josef Newgarden when asked why a pole sitter has never won an IndyCar race at Iowa.

The last time the Eagles opened a season as NFL champions Steve Grogan Jerseys 2019 , it was 1960 and, well, who remembers what folks did then in Philadelphia? What they’ll certainly do Thursday night at the Linc when the Falcons come to town is roar with approval at the site of the Lombardi Trophy and the championship banner. Fans will sing many, many choruses of “Fly Eagles Fly.”And then the guys on the field will get down to business, defending the title they took away from New England last February. That defense will be difficult, particularly in the NFC, a stronger conference than the AFC.“Quite honestly, it’s going to be a great night from that standpoint,” coach Doug Pederson says of the season opener. “The fans that are in attendance are going to be crazy and they’re going to be excited. It’s going to be great for the banner to be dropped in Lincoln Financial (Field). It’s going to be a great atmosphere.“I think with this football team, though, they understand this is a different season, it’s a new team, new year. We’re sitting here 0-0 with a great opportunity against a great opponent — a playoff/Super Bowl-caliber team coming in here. Quite honestly, that’s their focus.”It had better be, because the Falcons barely lost in Philly in the divisional round last winter White Kevin Faulk Jerseys , and they’ve upgraded on both sides of the ball. So does Matt Patricia’s as Lions coach.LIONS, 23-19 Hello readers, these are my (hopefully coherent) ramblings during the Patriots’ game against the Bears. I’ll be writing one after every game this season. I hope you enjoy them. Bill Belichick going with the hoodie and ear warmer, with the Patriots logo upside down on the ear warmer, of course. Anyone that thinks Bill does this by accident is insane. Patriots come out firing, with 8 plays on the first drive, all of them productive, except for an incomplete on a double screen play.Hogan went down on the Edelman touchdown, and looked to be in some pain White Tedy Bruschi Jerseys , but was back on the field on the punt return team a few minutes later. Patriots having a problem stopping Mitchell Trubisky from running the ball. Their first 2 first downs were picked up before he completed a pass. Awful mistake by Patterson on the kick return. Can’t make mistakes like that and expect to win. Ran into his own guy and the ball just popped out. Adrian Clayborn has absolutely no idea how to keep contain. Trubisky rolls to the right and just stops and lets Clayborn run by, then runs for an 8-yard touchdown on what was a 77-yard scramble. Refs decide to pick up the flag after Josh Gordon clearly gets hit helmet to helmet. Patriots turn it over again, but the real concern is Sony Michel. Looked REALLY bad, let’s hope he’s not done for the year. Hard to play worse defense than the Patriots on 4th down in the 2nd. Commit a penalty and leave Trey Burton wide open for a first down. TWO phantom calls on J.C. Jackson on the Bears red zone trip that led to Jordan Howard’s touchdown run. What a move by Patterson on the kick return touchdown. Gets the Patriots right back in the game and gives them an injection of momentum. Loved the high five between him and Jackson as he was scoring. Josh Gordon is really good. That catch on 4th down was insane, and looked even more amazing since he lost his helmetJames White is uncoverable 1 on 1. Touchdown and the Pats take the lead again. Sometimes during a Patriots game, you’ll look up and think, “How are they winning right now?” There’s 2 minutes left in the first half and I just had that thought. Edelman owes Keion Crossen a beer or 4 after he prevented the Bears from recovering Edelman’s dropped punt. Luckily, Edelman was able to fall on the ball. The thought was good, to turn and make a play, but you gotta catch the ball first, especially inside the 10Then, of course, Crossen gets called for a penalty on the next punt and gives the Bears a good shot at kicking a FG. Thankfully, the Bears were unable to get the first half of the Brady Parlay. The Patriots are getting killed by Trubisky’s legs. Typically, running quarterbacks don’t hurt them this much Tedy Bruschi Jerseys 2019 , but this is twice this year that they haven’t been able to contain running QBs. You drop an interception in the end zone, and the other team scores a touchdown. Those are the rules. Patriots have now done it twice. Need better execution if the Patriots expect to win today. People may get on J.C. Jackson for the penalties today, but the first two were garbage calls, and the 3rd was a good decision after he was toasted on a double move by Gabriel. And then a fantastic play to rip the ball away from Bellamy. I like what I’ve seen from him today. Hell of a play by Dont’a Hightower to block the punt attempt by the Bears, trucking his blocker, and laying out for the ball. Then a solid return by Kyle Van Noy. Patriots really improved on special teams this week. First blocked punt returned for a TD since Tedy Bruschi did it back in the 90s. May get lost because of some solid catches, but Josh Gordon has two costly drops today. Two insane interceptions by Patriots corners. Ball skills and big play ability is one thing that has been missing in the secondary for a while, it’s nice to see two young guys, Jackson and Jones, making plays. After the pick, the Patriots go 96 yards on 9 plays, including a long catch by Josh Gordon, and go up by 14. That’s the type of drive that puts teams away. Yet another tough luck interception by Brady when James Develin drops a late pass and it’s picked off by the Bears. That’s at least 4 by Brady this year. Especially tough since they had great field position after a 3 & out by the Bears. Khalil Mack was invisible today. Not much of surprise, if there’s one player who dominates on the defensive line, they don’t typically hurt the Patriots. See: J-J- Watt.I was closer to Trey Burton than any Patriots defender all day. They were torched by him all day. Fantastic game by James White White Andre Tippett Jerseys , not only catching the ball, but running hard at the end of the game. Certainly not his strong suit, but he was still doing it. The Patriots will almost certainly be picking up a RB this week, but White will continue to be a huge part of the offense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game end with a completed Hail Mary that didn’t end up in a touchdown. Great discipline by Duron Harmon and Jonathan Jones to not go for the ball, but know that they needed to stop White from scoring. Clearly that’s their job on that play, but most players on most teams will still end up going for the ball. This one obviously saved the game for the Patriots. There are some serious questions about this team, especially with the depth at running back moving forward, but they head into a Monday Night divisional matchup in Buffalo next week. The Bills stink, but typically play the Patriots hard, don’t expect them to roll over next week. Interact with Pat on Twitter @plane_pats

Ugly wins are a thing of beauty in Denver Jared Cook Jersey , where the Broncos learned all their hard lessons last year in the dreariness of defeat."We're sitting here 2-0 but we're struggling," Emmanuel Sanders after the Broncos eked out a 20-19 win over Oakland on Sunday on Brandon McManus' 36-yard field goal with 6 seconds left.It was their only lead on a sweltering afternoon in which the temperature at kickoff was a record 92 degrees. The Broncos, who overcame a 12-point second-half deficit, hadn't opened a season with back-to-back fourth-quarter comebacks since 2007. Last week, they rallied past Seattle 27-24 in Case Keenum's Denver debut."It does feel good to win the hard-fought games," Sanders said. "But I can't wait until we can win one of those smooth games. But we're going to keep pushing. I'm going to wake up in the morning and stretch my arms and go, 'Ahh. It feels good to be 2-0.'"Especially after going 5-11 last year.It was for times like these that Broncos general manager John Elway ditched his stopwatch drafts in April in favor of players who had been captains in college and left school with degrees in hand."One thing we learned last year when you're 5-11 and you're in a losing streak, you need that maturity and that leadership to get things turned around," Elway said last spring.Royce Freeman scored on a 1-yard run and fellow rookies Bradley Chubb and Josey Jewell had key stops, but the biggest contributions came from Tim Patrick, a receiver who spent his rookie season on Denver's practice squad in 2017, and undrafted rookie Phillip Lindsay, a hometown hero who starred at the University of Colorado.Patrick's first NFL catch was a doozy: an 18-yarder that set up the winning field goal . And all Lindsay did was make history Sunday. He became the first undrafted player in league history to top 100 yards from scrimmage in his first two games. He followed a 103-yard debut with a 111-yard performance that included 14 rushes for 107 yards.Other takeaways from the game E. J. Manuel Jersey , which marked the 350th win in Broncos owner Pat Bowlen's tenure:CARR REVVS UP: Derek Carr was on target all afternoon, completing 29 of 32 passes for 288 yards and a touchdown. His 90.6 completion percentage is the best mark in franchise history — with a minimum of 20 attempts — topping the record of 89.5 set by Rich Gannon on Nov. 11, 2002, in Denver."He was great. Very accurate in getting us the ball. Made a lot of plays," said receiver Amari Cooper, who caught 10 passes for 116 yards four days after coach Jon Gruden gave Carr grief for not finding Cooper more in Week 1.MILLER MAGICThe Raiders protected rookie left tackle Kolton Miller by having Carr get rid of the ball quick, keeping Von Miller to one sack a week after he destroyed Seattle's game plan with four quarterback hits, three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.Miller's day could have been very similar to the Seahawks game had teammate Todd Davis not been whistled for a holding call that negated Miller's strip sack and Domata Peko's fumble recovery at the Oakland 20-yard line in the first half."I had Derek Carr, it was one of the few plays that he held the ball," said Miller, who later had a sack that counted. "I was able to get in and get the sack. And the forced fumble. And we recovered it. But we had to go back out because Todd was doing the Viennese waltz with whoever it was out there."SEEING REDRookie Courtland Sutton had a 42-yard catch overturned after Gruden threw his red challenge flag. He also thought he had come down with a 21-yard TD catch, but Broncos coach Vance Joseph lost his challenge when the officials confirmed Sutton's left foot slipped out of bounds just before his right knee hit inbounds. So Marquel Lee Jersey , Sutton finished with a single catch for 9 yards."I don't know. I thought Courtland's touchdown was a touchdown," Joseph said. "Obviously, I challenged it. The second catch, I guess he didn't finish the catch. We'll figure it out. It's a tough game to officiate. There are so many rules right now and hopefully it's fair on both sides."BLOCKED KICKOne of the few things that went right for Denver in a dismal first half was Shaq Barrett's block of Mike Nugent's extra point, leaving the Raiders ahead 12-0 at the half."Who knew that would be huge?" Keenum asked.Barrett did, that's who."Coaches always say you never know what play can end up being a game-winning play," Barrett said. "That's why you've just got to play every play like that. When I'm out there, that's what I'm trying to do." The recent earthquakes had little effect on the stadium project, but a few issues with the truss fittings did cause a small delay. The first part of building a stadium always takes the longest and is the most difficult due to digging the foundation and putting up the steel frame, but the later parts of construction are far easier.Raider fans who don’t normally frequent Las Vegas will get their chance to see the building up close when the NFL Draft is held in Sin City next April. The stadium is on schedule to be fully enclosed by then and presumably the remaining work will be done on the inside of the facility at that time. The Draft will not be held at the stadium itself, but most likely just down the street at Caesar’s Palace’s new conference center or perhaps the Bellagio. Yours truly, the Great Raiderdamus, plans to be there just as I was for this year’s Draft in Nashville.Barring any unforeseen delays or issues, it seems as though the Raiders will be well and truly the Las Vegas Raiders next season and the possible 2020 lease of the Oakland Coliseum will be rendered unnecessary.

Another chapter in this long Jose Altuve Jersey , dumb saga." News2019 Houston Texans OffseasonBrian Gaine Is Heading Back To BuffaloNew,29commentsAnother chapter in this long, dumb saga. CDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Brian Gaine Is Heading Back To BuffaloTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailThe Texans’ entirely avoidable general manager saga has turned into a game of telephone. Each time you think it comes to a conclusion, another incoherent whisper is muffled into your ear. Let’s see if I still understand what brought us here.Back in April Jadeveon Clowney Jersey , the Texans hired Jack Easterby away from the Patriots to be their Executive Vice President of Team Development. Two months later, the Texans fired general manager Brian Gaine. They quickly put together interviews to satiate the Rooney Rule before trying to interview Nick Caserio. The Patriots retaliated with tampering charges. The Texans rescinded said interview request in exchange for New England dropping the tampering charges, all despite the fact that Caserio had a clause in his contract that probably wasn’t even enforceable.Houston still doesn’t have a general manager, choosing to go with an Articles of Confederation instead. Now Brian Gaine is heading back to Buffalo Johnathan Joseph Jersey , where he worked for the Bills in between stints with the Texans, as a Senior Personnel AdvisorI can’t wait for the next layer to be added to this big business gossip cake.Gaine looks good. I’m glad he’s bounced back.Hopefully he found some way to receive forgiveness for the cowardice that orchestrated a horrendous offseason for your Houston Texans. This dumb saga isn’t over yet. It won’t be until Houston hires a general manager of its own. Stay tuned until 2020. HOUSTON (AP) — An East Texas school superintendent who wrote “You can’t count on a black quarterback” in the comment section of an online news article says he thought it was a private message.Lynn Redden is superintendent of the Onalaska Independent School District in the Piney Woods, about 75 miles north of Houston. In his post on the Houston Chronicle’s website, Redden referred to the last play of Sunday’s game in which Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson held the ball as time expired.Later Tuesday Whitney Mercilus Jersey , the school district posted a notice on its website that the school board would have a special meeting on Saturday to discuss Redden’s contract. The board also released a statement to the Chronicle that read: “Onalaska ISD regrets that an inappropriate comment has been attributed to the district’s superintendent. The OISD does not condone negative comments or actions against any race. The district values every individual and therefore the district will take the appropriate measures to address the situation expeditiously and completely.”In an interview with the Chronicle, Redden said he regrets posting the comment. He said he thought it was a private message and deleted it as soon as he realized it was public.Redden said he based the comment on what he called the “limited success” of black quarterbacks in the NFL.The Texans declined to comment.

All signs point toward a bigger role as a pass rusher for Jarrad Davis in 2019." Detroit Lions InterviewsDetroit Lions Training CampDetroit Lions AnalysisTakeaways from Stafford Womens Sam Martin Jersey , Davis press conferenceNew,15commentsAll signs point toward a bigger role as a pass rusher for Jarrad Davis in 2019. EDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Takeaways from Stafford, Davis press conferenceTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Doug Murray/Icon Sportswire via Getty ImagesThe Lions made their return to Allen Park Wednesday with their first day of training camp. Afterwards, quarterback Matthew Stafford and linebacker Jarrad Davis took questions from the media.A lot of the narrative surrounding Stafford was about his wife Kelly, whose surgery and recovery from a brain tumor was well-documented on social media this offseason. Additionally, there was talk of Stafford getting to work with his receivers, including new acquisition Danny Amendola in the offseason. Stafford said that practicing with his receivers this offseason has allowed them to work on verbiage and routes from the new offense. Stafford also talked about balance along the offense. He mentioned that he has been very impressed with sophomore running back Kerryon Johnson’s work ethic. He mentioned as well that the Lions offense “will try to be as balanced as we can,” and will try to dictate the pace and score of the game. When asked if he felt like he needed to have a bounce-back year, Stafford said he doesn’t pay it much mind because he’s always trying to improve and “every year I come in here I’m trying to prove myself.”Davis was next at the podium http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authentic-teez-tabor-jersey , and started off talking about his comfort going into year two of Matt Patricia’s defense. He said having a year of experience “will help us all play faster,” referring to the entirety of the defense. He was also asked about rookie linebacker and second-round pick Jahlani Tavai, whom Davis said is very personable and a great teammate “who wants everything that he can get.” He also mentioned that he and Tavai are constantly bouncing ideas off of each other, learning from their respective experiences in the NFL and at Hawaii. Davis was then asked about whether he can be expected to rush the passer more this year, as there has been speculation that Tavai’s selection will allow Davis to occupy a more diverse role in the defense. Davis only said “you never know man, you never know,” but he broke a smile afterwards. Later on, he also mentioned that he has spent time this offseason working with former Philadelphia Eagles defensive line coach and now independent defensive line specialist Pete Jenkins. All signs are pointing to Davis taking on a larger role rushing the passer in 2019, something that will capitalize on his explosion and resemblance to a heat-seeking missile while reducing the reliance on his occasionally faulty instincts. Davis wrapped up with a question about how this year’s defense is different from last year’s Womens Taylor Decker Jersey , to which Davis said “it’s almost like night and day.” Davis Webb took a step toward restoring confidence that he can be a capable backup quarterback for the New York Giants.Webb took advantage of his opportunity to play for Eli Manning, throwing a go-ahead touchdown in the second quarter to help the New York Giants beat the Detroit Lions 30-17 Friday night."Everyone says that wins don't matter in the preseason, but they leave a much better feeling in the locker room," Giants coach Pat Shurmur said.Webb was 14 of 20 for 140 yards with an 8-yard TD pass to Wayne Gallman Jr., who scored for a second time later in the game. Webb showed poise in the pocket and touch down the field, connecting on a perfectly lofted 40-yard pass to Russell Shepard to set up Aldrick Rosas' 55-yard field goal in the second quarter."I just wanted to hit the reset button on everything that happened last week," Webb said.Manning, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, was a healthy scratch.Webb Taylor Decker Jersey White , a 2017 third-round pick, played well after performing well last week. He was 9 of 22 for 70 yards, sailing passes over open receivers in the preseason opening loss against Cleveland to raise some concerns about whether he's ready to be the team's No. 2 quarterback."I was very happy to see Davis Webb bounce back that well as a starter," Shurmur said. "He made significant improvements from last week to this week, and that shows why we have so much confidence in him. I thought he was calmer and he did a very nice job."The Giants rested rookie running back Saquon Barkley with a strained hamstring and didn't test receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s surgically repaired ankle.Giants rookie quarterback Kyle Lauletta, a fourth-round pick, scrambled and scored on a 10-yard run in the third quarter to put the Giants ahead 17-3. Gallman took an inside handoff and bounced to the outside on an 11-yard run to put New York up by three TDs early in the fourth. The Lions started Matthew Stafford after sitting him in last week's game at Oakland and he didn't have much time to make plays behind a porous offensive line. Stafford was 2 of 5 for 51 yards and was sacked twice and hit once as he threw.Detroit coach Matt Patricia, though, refused to blame the guys up front."I don't think we played particularly well at any position Quandre Diggs Jersey White ," he said.Jake Rudock replaced Stafford in the second quarter and finished 23 of 30 for 171 yards with a TD. Rudock came back in the fourth, relieving veteran Matt Cassel, who threw an interception.Even though it was just a preseason game, Patricia was clearly not happy with his players, staff and himself."We got to do a better job and it starts with me," he said. "We've got to get these guys ready to go. We obviously have a lot of work to do."INJURIESGiants: RB Jalen Simmons left the game in the second half with a concussion. Shepard left the game in the fourth with a finger injury.Lions: LB Steve Longa appeared to hurt his right knee when he tried to tackle Lauletta on his TD run in the third quarter. After being evaluated on the field, Longa walked off the field slowly and went toward the locker room.HE'S BACKLions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah played for the first time this preseason, coming back from an undisclosed injury that kept him out of the beginning of training camp."I noticed him on a couple plays," Patricia said. "It was good that he was out there http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authentic-quandre-diggs-jersey , working hard."NATIONAL ANTHEMThere were no player protests during the national anthem. The Lions, as they did last week, stood on the sideline with their arms locked together. The Giants all stood at attention and many players held their right hand over their heart.PREGAME CHATHall of Fame running back Barry Sanders met Barkley before the game, chatted briefly and posed for some pictures."He's put together," Sanders said.UP NEXTGiants: Face the Jets on the field they share, technically as the visitors on Aug. 24.Lions: Visit Tampa Bay on Aug. 24.

A.J. Green‘s ankle didn’t cooperate with plans for him to return to action this week and the Bengals officially ruled the wide receiver out for the ninth time in 2019 on Friday.Head coach Zac Taylor said on Wednesday that the expectation was that Green would make his first appearance of the season against the Ravens Jordan Evans Jersey , but Green missed practice and later said his ankle swelled up after going through a walkthrough practice. Green also said on Thursday that he wouldn’t play, so Friday’s news came as no surprise. It did come as a disappointment for Taylor and the Bengals, who will be starting rookie quarterback Ryan Finley for the first time. The Bengals may get another offensive player in the lineup for the first time. Left tackle Cordy Glenn has been out the entire year after suffering a concussion over the summer, but practiced this week and is listed as questionable.Cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) and guard Alex Redmond (knee, ankle) are also out for the Bengals. Though playing time was limited for a lot of Bengals players, a number of them shined in limited opportunities." AwardsBengals MVP award vs. RedskinsNew Hardy Nickerson Jersey ,14commentsThough playing time was limited for a lot of Bengals players, a number of them shined in limited opportunities. EDTThe Cincinnati Bengals notched their first win for new head coach Zac Taylor on Thursday night and many players were major contributors to the win. Names, both new and old to the Bengals’ roster, ended up dominating the stat lines. While most of the attention was on the offensive players, the defensive and special teams units had moments of greatness as well. Cast your vote and sound off on your winner for the Bengals’ preseason Week 2 Most Valuable Player!Ryan Finley, quarterback: After just two preseason games Joe Mixon Jersey , the rookie has shown enough to validate the reasoning behind Zac Taylor’s desire to move up to get him in the fourth round of this year’s draft. He had a nice debut against the Chiefs, but really put the pedal to the metal on Thursday night. Finley didn’t wow folks with the big chunk yardage, but he distributed the ball well and was instrumental in the team’s win. He finished 20-of-26 for 150 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Alex Erickson, receiver/kick returner: After receiving some offseason hype as a guy who may be helping the team a bit more on offense, it’s been a bit of tough sledding in that department through two limited appearances in the summer contests. Even so Clark Harris Jersey , Erickson had three catches for 15 yards on Thursday night. But, his fourth quarter punt return for a touchdown was the game-sealer. Erickson bolted down the right sideline and broke a late tackle on a 75-yard return to put the Bengals in command. Auden Tate, wide receiver: For the second straight summer, Tate continues to impress with his unique skill set. He isn’t a guy who will run by many NFL defensive backs, but his catching radius and ability to catch contested balls continue to keep him in the conversation for a final roster spot. One could argue that Tate bailed out Finley on a couple of receptions with his acrobatics and he continues to be a size mismatch for opposing defenses. He had four catches for 16 yards and a touchdown. Drew Sample, tight end: It wasn’t the strongest of debuts for the rookie tight end against Kansas City Josh Malone Jersey , but his versatility shined on Thursday. Zac Taylor and Brian Callahan moved Sample around a bit, and he responded with two catches for 15 yards and a touchdown reception. Kerry Wynn, defensive end: The defense was a bit up-and down on Thursday, but the new rotational defensive lineman had a couple of impact plays. Wynn had a sack to stall a Washington drive, and then recovered a fumble from Dwayne Haskins on a Jordan Willis sack, which ultimately led to the Tate touchdown.

I can’t believe this year is almost over...wow.It’s been yet another fun year to scout and enjoy this great game; below I have compiled a jumble of notes and thoughts on a handful of prospects and potential prospects for the up coming NFL Draft. So Myles Gaskin Jersey Boys , please enjoy this edition and feel free to comment below. Thanks for reading.D’Andre Walker, LB, GeorgiaIt was easy to spot Walker during the SEC championship game - he was terrific. However, it wasn’t just that game, he’s been great all season long - Walker has been an impressive prospect. He’s got great instincts, very versatile and has great pass rushing skills.I also love his drive and hustle that he shows.John David Mercer-USA TODAY SportsJeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi St.Simmons is another guy who has enjoyed a fantastic season. To get right to the point, I think Quinnen Williams is the best guy I’ve scouted this season and Simmons isn’t far behind him.I think he’s solid against the run and his athleticism makes him a pretty good pass rusher from the DT position. He is a solid first round pick and an immediate contributor in the NFL.Vasha Hunt-USA TODAY SportsParris Campbell, WR, Ohio St.I have been a fan of Campbell for quite some time and he did not disappoint me this season.I think he’s one of the most dangerous receivers in the country and I obviously love his speed - especially at his size. He is an exciting player to watch and a guy who could immediate help any NFL team. Aaron Doster-USA TODAY SportsZach Allen, DE, Boston CollegeAllen is a guy who I don’t believe is getting enough attention.....and many people have him as a first round prospect.I have really liked the film I’ve watched on Allen this season.I think he’s quick, strong, great tackler, non-stop motor, hell of a run stopper and provides a good pass rush.Allen is a fantastic prospect and already one of favorites in this draft. Winslow Townson-USA TODAY SportsJosh Allen, LB, KentuckyJosh Allen is getting a lot of love right now and rightfully so.After I saw that he won the Nagurski Trophy I wasn’t surprised at all- he had a phenomenal year. For me, I can’t remember another prospect that I saw improve so much between 2 seasons.I am very impressed with Allen and see a bright future ahead of him in the NFL. Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY SportsAlex Wesley, WR, Northern ColoradoI’ll admit I haven’t watched much on Wesley - but I keep hearing nothing but good things about him and from the tape that I have watched - he’s an impressive guy. He’s definitely someone to keep on our radar.Photo by Dustin Bradford/Getty ImagesCollin Johnson, WR, TexasI’ve written about him before - if you guys follow any of my work, you know how much I like Johnson. He’s been terrific this season and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him declare. He’s one of my top WRs in this class.Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty ImagesByron Murphy, CB, WashingtonI really like Murphy.I love his game that he plays; he’s a well rounded and tough CB that can hit with a capital H.People knack him on his size, but I see too much potential and skill to pass on him.I have a first round grade on him.Photo by Otto Greule Jr/Getty ImagesDevin White, LB, LSUI see greatness in White.I love it when you can ‘see’ the love of the game in a prospect’s play and I see that in White. His size does scare me a bit - mainly because he’s so stinking aggressive, but I see too much talent and potential in White. He’s had a great season and would be deadly on our defense.Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty ImagesHere are some other prospects that I have been impressed with:Dax Raymond, TE, Utah St.Nasir Adderley Cheap Myles Gaskin Jersey , S, DelawareDarnell Savage, S, MDNoah Fant, TE, IowaTJ Hockenson, TE, IowaJuan Thornhill, S, VirginiaFoster Moreau, TE, LSUMarquise Brown, WR, OklahomaDavid Sills, WR, West VirginiaDaniel Jones, QB, DukeEmanuel Hall, WR, MissouriCarl Granderson, DE, WyomingMax Scharping, OT, NIUAndy Isabella, WR, UMassRock Ya-Sin, CB, TempleClint Clearwater’s 2019 NFL Mock Draft I know this is insanely early for mock drafts; this is pretty much a pointless exercise, but its fun.I love the draft, I like getting hyped for it and mock drafts are a good way to learn about this upcoming draft class. Now, for this mock, I am not really taking into account need (unless it’s obvious - example, the browns will not take a QB in the 1st round); I am merely trying to take what film I have watched and make a mock draft based off the talent I see.So Myles Gaskin Miami Dolphins Jerseys , check it out below and let me know what you guys think... Buffalo defensive end Jerry Hughes was fined $53 Los Angeles Rams Jerseys Stitched ,482 by the NFL on Saturday for confronting an official in the tunnel after the Bills-Dolphins game last weekend. Hughes accused the official of calling him a vulgar name."I'll catch you. I'll catch you, guaranteed," Hughes shouted, waving his index finger, as he was pulled away by Bills officials. Hughes later declined to elaborate on the reason for his anger, saying David Edwards Jersey nfl draft , "I lost the game, so I am supposed to be angry."The league also fined Tennessee left tackle Taylor Lewan $26,739 for yelling at referee Jerome Boger and his crew after the Jets-Titans game. And in a rare move, the NFL fined one of its head coaches for arguing with officials, docking the 49ers' Kyle Shanahan $25,000 for his unsportsmanlike conduct last week against Seattle.Shanahan was flagged for arguing after Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tossed the lost shoe of San Francisco linebacker Fred Warner to the side after a play. Seattle then went hurry-up offensively and the 49ers were caught offsides as Warner tried to exit the field and a replacement was late making the substitution."It wasn't a smart thing by me and something I can't do Custom David Edwards Jersey ," Shanahan told reporters Monday.Fines of $26,739 for unnecessary roughness were levied against Dallas' Jaylon Smith (helmet-to-helmet hit) and Jatavis Brown of the Chargers.Receiving $20,054 fines were Ndamukong Suh of the Rams for a horse collar tackle, the Lions' Ezekiel Ansah for an illegal hit on the quarterback, Za'Darius Smith of the Ravens for roughing the passer and Bears quarterback Chase Daniel for a horse collar tackle on an interception.Three players received $13,369 fines for unsportsmanlike conduct: Kansas City's Eric Murray Discount David Edwards Jersey , Oakland's Jared Cook and Atlanta's Vic Beasley Jr., for dunking the football over the crossbar.Malcolm Smith of San Francisco was fined $10,026 for unnecessary roughness. KANSAS CITY Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys 2019 , Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs’ defense had heard the chorus of critics all season long, the ones that claimed their sieve-like line and shaky backfield would spoil young superstar Patrick Mahomes and cost them a chance to chase their first Super Bowl appearance in decades.Well, that defense is a big reason why the Chiefs are one step away. With persistent snow turning Arrowhead Stadium into a winter wonderland, the Chiefs successfully shut down Andrew Luck and the potent Indianapolis Colts on Saturday.Mahomes and the rest of their own high-powered offense took care of the rest, rolling to a 31-13 victory in the divisional round to end 25 years of playoff frustration.“We’re such a different team,” said Mahomes, who threw for 278 yards while running for a score. “We have such young players. We have such confidence we’re going to win every single game.”Damien Williams ran through snow and muck for 129 yards and another score, and Tyreek Hill had 72 yards receiving and a touchdown run, as the Chiefs beat Indianapolis for the first time in five playoff meetings to earn their first AFC title game appearance since January 1994.The AFC West champions will play the winner of Sunday’s game between the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers and the New England Patriots next weekend for a spot in the Super Bowl in Atlanta.“We wanted to light up the city,” Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones said. “We didn’t want to take the road down memory lane.”Andrew Luck was held to 203 yards passing for the Colts, while Marlon Mack was a non-factor on the ground. He had 46 yards rushing before leaving late in the fourth quarter with a hip injury.“Was not expecting it to end today,” Colts coach Frank Reich said. “We knew we were going up against a very good team, a very well-coached team. It’s hard to lose. It’s hard to lose when you’ve come this far with the team that we have and the guys that we have, so credit to the Chiefs.“They outcoached us, they outplayed us,” Reich said. “We just gave them too many opportunities.”The Chiefs set out to change history from the opening minutes, when they forced a three-and-out and then waltzed right over a Colts defense that nearly shut out the Texans a week ago. Mahomes and Co. scored on their first three possessions, then again just before halftime, to take a 24-7 lead.If there was any question whether this would be Kansas City’s day, it was answered when Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri missed a 23-yard field-goal try off the upright just before halftime. It was the first time in 22 postseason attempts that he’d missed from that close. Not that the Chiefs thought they had it wrapped up.They’ve had bigger playoff meltdowns against the Colts. There was the 10-7 loss in which Lin Elliott missed three field goals when the Chiefs were the No. 1 seed Juan Thornhill Jersey Cheap , and the loss at Arrowhead Stadium in 2003 in which nobody punted. Five years ago, they blew a 38-10 second-half lead against Luck and the Colts to spoil Andy Reid’s first season. Not this time. Not with this Kansas City quarterback. After shattering nearly every franchise passing record, Mahomes picked up right where he left off in his regular-season finale. He led the Chiefs on touchdown drives of 90 and 70 yards to open the game, quickly identified a favorite target in Travis Kelce, and shook off a banged-up knee to scramble for a touchdown late in the first half to give his team a big cushion.Of course, the Chiefs (13-4) didn’t need it the way their defense was playing. The Colts (11-7) went three-and-out on their first four possessions, were outgained 185-12 in the first quarter, and Luck didn’t complete a pass until he found T.Y Hilton early in the second.Their lone bright spot came when Zach Paschal recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown.Even when the Colts caught a break and Sammy Watkins fumbled the ball to them late in the third quarter, they were quick to give it back. Dee Ford stripped Luck and fellow linebacker Justin Houston plopped on the ball, ruining another red-zone opportunity.“It seemed like the rushers were getting there all night,” Chiefs cornerback Kendall Fuller said. “Guys sticking coverage, playing good technique, good eyes and things like that.”The Colts finally scored an offensive touchdown with 5:31 left in the game. But in the perfect summation of their lousy afternoon, their erstwhile star kicker missed the extra point.By that point, the party in the stands already had begun. The Chiefs had lost six straight home playoff games, including heartbreakers to Pittsburgh and Tennessee the past two years. But a proud franchise that won its only Super Bowl title with Len Dawson in 1970, and last played for a spot behind Joe Montana, is once more one step away.“I’m just happy for these guys in this locker room,” Kelce said. “Playoff wins are hard to come by, let alone wins in the NFL. Kansas City lost Mitch Morse and Chris Conley to free agency this offseason, but the Chiefs head coach didn’t seem all that worried on Monday."Most fans are well aware the Kansas City Chiefs defense underwent a major overhaul this offseason with coordinator, scheme and personnel changes. The offensive changes—specifically the losses of wide receiver Chris Conley and center Mitch Morse, who had 802 (76.75%) and 678 (64.88%) of 2018’s offensive snaps for the Chiefs, respectively—have gone a little under the radar. But not to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, the man responsible for making sure his No. 1 offense does not skip a beat in 2019.“We lost some guys, some guys we’ve counted on here for a few years,” Reid said during his opening offseason press conference Monday. “They’re good football players, and we wish them the best, on both sides of the ball, but [Conley and Morse] for sure.”The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Conley and the Buffalo Bills signed Morse during free agency.“They’re going to do a great job,” Reid added. “It was good to see Nick [Foles] and Conley get back together (in Jacksonville) and then Mitch went up with a close friend of mine (Bills head coach Sean McDermott). They’re all in good hands and they’re going to do well.” But Reid and the Chiefs are now tasked with finding ample replacements.“We have to fill in those [spots],” Reid said. “We were lucky enough to have Austin [Reiter] here to work some at center and did a nice job when he was in there and we got good competition at that spot, so I’m not worried about that.”With Morse dealing with a concussion and Jordan Devey on injured reserve (torn pec) during the middle of the 2018 season, the 27-year-old Reiter started four games for the Chiefs and performed well. The Chiefs rewarded Reiter with a contract extension in early December.Whereas you may think finding a receiver to replace Conley could be a different story, Reid sounded especially high on Demarcus Robinson on Monday.“D-Rob’s grown the last couple of years Harrison Butker Jersey , and it was important that he took that step up this past [season],” Reid said. In his limited role (40 percent of offensive snaps), the 24-year-old Robinson caught 22 passes on 33 targets for 288 yards and four touchdowns. Robinson had a touchdown in each of the Chiefs’ final three regular-season games.“He and the quarterback (Patrick Mahomes) have kind of a unique chemistry that goes on, and they’ve had some big plays there,” Reid added. “The quarterback likes him and has a lot of trust in him... I can’t tell you exactly how it came about, but it came about. The one thing I can tell you—D-Rob will continue the play. There’s no pulling up on a play. Sometimes guys will take a breather on the back end if the play’s going over here (the other side of the field). D-Rob’s 100 miles an hour getting over there. You think about how many plays he made this past year by just that sheer hustle on every play. Our quarterback knows if he gets in trouble, somewhere D-Rob’s going to show up. He’s developed a little of that trust and chemistry I think.”Reid said Robinson fits right in with the team’s top two receivers.“Keeping Sammy (Watkins) in there working, I think is good, too. He can play anywhere in there, so I think we’re good inside, outside, and with Tyreek (Hill), also. I think that’s a pretty good corps right there.”As of now, the third receiver position appears to be Robinson’s job to lose. That is, like anything this time of year in the NFL, subject to change. The draft begins next Thursday night.

Undrafted rookie wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has been one of the stars of Patriots training camp Stephen Gostkowski Jerseys 2019 , but there have often been players who draw positive reviews in practice before failing to see it carry over to games.Meyers did not have that problem against the Lions on Thursday night. The rookie caught six passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns in a performance that should help push him closer to the 53-man roster. After the game, Meyers said he felt he showed he deserves to be in the NFL and that he’ll keep working to show that’s the case come cutdown day.“I have to keep proving to my coaches that I deserve to be here,” Meyers said, via NESN.com. “I’m not on the team yet. I’m trying to make sure I can stay here and continue to be here. That’s who I’m trying to prove a point to, not really to the people who didn’t give me the [draft] call. . . . I’m not satisfied White Matthew Slater Jerseys , either. I’ve just got to keep going forward, and hopefully more is to come.”The Patriots will continue their preseason with a game against the Titans on August 17. Sony Michel ran for 931 yards in his first NFL regular season with the Patriots and then had six rushing touchdowns in three postseason games to help the team to a Super Bowl title, so it’s hard to find much reason to complain about his rookie performance. If one did want to find an obvious area of improvement, it would be Michel’s work in the passing game. Michel only caught seven passes last season and the Patriots skewed heavily toward the ground game when he was in the backfield, so defenses could predict what was coming even if they weren’t able to stop it often enough.Patriots running backs coach Ivan Fears doesn’t think they’ll have that luxury this year. Fears said Michel is “much improved” in the passing game and that the offense will reflect that once the regular season is underway.“The whole key to make it so we’re interchangeable Matthew Slater Jerseys 2019 , everybody looks at us saying they can do both. We like to be in that kind of mode, they got to worry about Sony catching the ball as well as running the ball,” Fears said, via Mac Cerullo of the . “I think you’ll find Sony is going to do very well in the passing game, and I bet you’ll find James White and the rest of the guys doing very well in the running game also. We’re going to try to keep that going.”Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said that the Patriots’ offensive identity is still taking shape. If Fears is right about Michel’s strides in the passing game White Devin McCourty Jerseys , he’ll be at the forefront of whatever identity winds up ruling the day in New England.

Deshaun Watson‘s performance in just a few games as a rookie last year has everyone looking forward to what the Houston Texans quarterback can do in a full season.Perhaps no one is more excited about Watson’s potential than DeAndre Hopkins Bradley Roby Jersey White , Houston’s top receiver who has suffered through a revolving door at the position since he was drafted in 2013.“The possibilities, what we can do is limitless,” Hopkins said.Watson threw for 1,699 yards and 19 touchdowns and ran for 269 yards and two more scores in seven games, with six starts, before tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in right knee in practice last season. He’s healthy now and determined to help the Texans bounce back from last year’s injury-plagued 4-12 season, their first losing record since 2013.“I’m very excited for the new season and the potential that we have,” Watson said. “Now we’ve just got to go out there and perform and do it on the field.”After he was injured last season Watson remained a fixture at the facility. He spent countless hours studying film, picking the brains of coaches and teammates and doing everything he could to continue his development while his knee healed. Coach Bill O’Brien loves that work ethic and believes the time Watson put in to improve mentally will pay dividends when he’s back on the field this year.“I really can’t say enough about the guy. He’s a great guy,” O’Brien said. “He’s worked very hard to understand the system going into his second year. He’s the type of guy that’s always going to show up to work. He loves football. He’s got great questions. He’s been great since the day he walked in the door here.”Some things to know about the 2018 Texans.WATT’S RETURN: While Watson returns on offense, the Texans should also get a boost from the return of J.J. Watt to lead the defense. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is healthy heading into the 2018 season after playing just eight games over the last two years because of a back injury in 2016 and a broken leg last season. He made his preseason debut in Houston’s third game against the Rams and has said he’ll be ready to go for Houston’s opener against the Patriots on Sept. 9.The defensive end said he’s feeling great, and was asked if he thinks he’ll be the same player he was before the injuries, when he piled up 38 sacks and 116 tackles combined in 2014-15.“Any way I answer that question, I’m screwed,” he said. “You want me to say: ‘Yeah, it’s going to be incredible,’ then you’re setting insane expectations. I say: ‘No Corey Moore Jersey White , I think I’m going to suck,’ that doesn’t bode too well for myself either. There’s really no good way to answer that question so I’m literally focused (on) what I can control.”“Through all my injuries, that’s probably the biggest thing I’ve learned, is control what you can control,” he said. “All I can control is today; workouts, practice, meetings, and then tomorrow I’ll be able to control that.”HONEY BADGER IN HOUSTON: Houston’s biggest offseason acquisition was free agent safety Tyrann Mathieu, the Honey Badger.Mathieu joined the Texans after spending his first five seasons in Arizona, where he played 66 games with 57 starts. The Texans hope, Mathieu, who has 11 career interceptions, will improve a secondary that allowed 215 yards passing a game last season. Though he’s new to the team, Mathieu has tried to step in and help mentor some of his younger teammates.“I just want to bring some energy,” he said. “I want to make as many plays as possible … I just want to be the ultimate leader for those guys and just show those guys that I’m going to show up every day.”Hopkins is a big fan of Mathieu and has enjoyed sparring with him in training camp this year.“He’s the quietest and (most chill) guy outside of the football field, but once he’s on the field he’s the Honey Badger,” Hopkins said.CLOWNEY’S ENCORE: The Texans are hoping for another big performance from Jadeveon Clowney after the top overall pick in the 2014 draft had the best season of his career last year.Clowney sat out most of training camp after offseason arthroscopic knee surgery Womens Greg Mancz Jersey , but returned last week and played against the Rams. The defensive end anchored Houston’s defense last season with Watt out, finishing second in the NFL with a career-high 21 tackles for losses and his 9 1/2 sacks, 21 quarterback hits and two forced fumbles were also career bests. He thinks Houston’s defense will be tough to deal with now that Watt is back and he’s playing at such a high level.“If we stay healthy, I don’t see much bad going wrong with this defensive line and this secondary we put together,” he said. “I’m excited about this team and this defense.”16<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:WATCH: Texas Football Days Presented By Jack In The Box | The Features HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans have turned things around after opening the season 0-3, winning three straight games to move out of the AFC South basement. There’s still plenty of work to do though as their offense has struggled to move the ball and protect quarterback Deshaun Watson.Houston beat the Buffalo Bills 20-13 on Sunday, but needed an interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to do it as they managed just one touchdown on offense for the second straight week. The Texans had a chance to put the game away on offense before the big defensive play but couldn’t get it done. They trailed by three with about two minutes remaining on Sunday when they reached the 1-yard line on a 41-yard penalty for pass interference in the end zone. But they lost 7 yards on three plays, capped by an incomplete pass intended for Ryan Griffin that Matt Milano knocked down and had to settle for a tying field goal.It was a particularly tough day for Watson, who entered the game dealing with a chest injury and was hit 19 times and committed a season-high three turnovers in the win.He knows that he must get better with a meeting with the Jaguars coming up on Sunday, but also pointed out that there are going to be some growing pains since he’s still very early in his career.“There’s always room to improve,” he said. “And this is only the 12th game of my career so I’m always experiencing and learning, and I’m going to continue learning for however long I play this game. Every game is a new experience, and for me to go out there (Sunday), I learned something new. I’m going to learn from it and move on.”The Texans made some moves to improve their offensive line in the offseason, but the group has continued to struggle. Watson has been sacked 25 times, which is the second-most in the NFL, and he’s taken 66 other hits.Despite this the second-year player wouldn’t criticize his line and said the problem is because of many different factors.“As a whole we’ve just got to do better Jose Altuve Jersey ,” he said. “Me getting the ball out, those guys doing their job, making sure the play-calling is right, just all on the same page. You can’t point fingers and pin it all on one group of guys. It’s a team sport. We’re all in it together, and we’ve got to come back, watch the film, correct it and move on.”Coach Bill O’Brien didn’t provide any specifics on what Houston can do to improve its offense, but insisted that it’s his responsibility to fix it.“We’ve got to get these guys to be more consistent in how they play,” he said. “That’s coaching. That’s really what we have to get done.”The Titans and Jaguars have lost two games in a row after starting out their seasons strong to leave them and the Texans tied with 3-3 records. After how terribly Houston’s season started the fact that the Texans could take the division lead with a win over Jacksonville is rather encouraging.“I feel good for these guys,” O’Brien said. “We know we have to improve in areas, obviously, but that’s what the league’s all about. I think winning the last three games the way we’ve won them shows a lot about that locker room and what they’re all about. If we can improve and get better in a lot of different areas, maybe we can do something.”“To come back from where we were is a testament to those guys, but there’s a long way to go,” O’Brien continued.

Is Bob Quinn doing a good job? A good enough job?"It’s NFL Draft week Womens Theo Riddick Jersey , and for Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn, this could be the most important few days of his entire Lions career. This year’s draft is monumentally important for the franchise, and in order to regain the fans’ trust in himself and head coach Matt Patricia, Quinn could really use a big playmaker or two in this year’s draft. But before we take on the 2019 NFL Draft, let’s see where Lions fans currently stand on their opinion of the general manager. When we last checked in our our approval ratings, Quinn experienced a big boost in approval for no real apparent reason. Just before we entered free agency, Quinn’s approval shot to 76 percent Womens Matthew Stafford Jersey , despite ending the year with less than half of fans approving of his job. Take a look:March 2019: 76 percent approvalDecember 2018: 45 percent approval November 2018: 41 percent approvalOctober 2018: 70 percent approvalSeptember 2018: 26 percent approvalMay 2018: 89 percent approvalMarch 2018: 83 percent approvalFebruary 2018: 92 percent approvalNovember 2017: 78 percent approvalOctober 2017: 82 percent approvalAugust 2017: 95 percent approvalJune 2017: 93 percent approvalApril 2017: 97 percent approvalFebruary 2017: 93 percent approvalDecember 2016: 96 percent approvalAugust 2016: 70 percent approvalJune 2016: 86 percent approvalApril 2016: 74 percent approvalFebruary 2016: 72 percent approvalSince then, the Lions had themselves a free agency. They went out and got top players at the cornerback, tight end and edge positions, all while maintaining a very manageable cap in 2019. That being said, the way those contracts are structured, the Lions could have some issues down the line. That’s a problem Lions fans are familiar with, as it was part of the reason Detroit could keep talented players like Ndamukong Suh around under the previous regime. Still Danny Amendola Jersey , you have to admire Quinn’s aggressiveness after a very disappointing free agency period in 2018. You can start to see the vision he and Patricia have of this team, it’s just a matter of seeing any sort of positive on-field results at this point. So before this extremely important draft, let’s check in one more time. Do you approve of the job Bob Quinn is doing? Vote in the poll below.(Note: the poll does not show up on all formats. ESTShareTweetShareShareNFL considering another idiotic, unnecessary rule change Brad Rempel-USA TODAY SportsLeave it to the NFL to try and fix something that wasn’t broken. This week the NFL competition committee is convening to discuss several potential rule changes for the upcoming season. Some of these rule changes may be necessary Christian Jones Jersey White , like expanding video review to help prevent situations like the missed pass interference call in the NFC Championship game. Some of these potential changes are absolutely 100 percent unnecessary. One that falls into this latter category is the NFL’s continued obsession with making the game less fun for its players. According to The Washington Post, the NFL is considering a rule change that would make it illegal for players from the sideline to join in on a celebration. This proposal is likely in response to the growing popularity of the “photo shoot” celebration, in which—typically after a forced turnover—the entire defense finds the nearest endzone photographer and/or cameraman and does a team pose for them. Oftentimes, players from the sideline join in on the celebration, hoping to make an appearance in a group photo they can post on their social media accounts. The origin of the celebration is disputed, but the 2017 New Orleans Saints certainly popularized it, and it has now become commonplace for just about every team to do it. Of course Ricky Wagner Jersey White , along the way, the NFL itself didn’t seem to have much of a problem promoting those celebrations as an example of how fun the league is:That isn’t to say there isn’t some merit to this rule. Obviously, letting players on the field just to celebrate will slow down the game a bit. Additionally, it could open the doors for players not involved in the play to come on the field during other situations. We all remember Dez Bryant coming off the sidelines to yell at the officials during the Lions’ 2015 Wild Card game —an act that was illegal by the book, but went uncalled. Should the NFL keep allowing players to come on for celebrations, that could lead to players being more comfortable leaving the bench for other reasons. But that kind of slippery slope argument is only a theory at this point. The on-field product has not changed a bit since these celebrations became more popular. Even if these celebrations slow the game, a turnover only happens about two or three times a game. That’s hardly enough to be worth legislating over. Though implementing this rule wouldn’t ban the photo celebration—obviously teams would still be able to pose with the 11 players on the field—it would still rob the players of an opportunity to just have some fun out there. The NFL secondary is a tight-knit group Tracy Walker Jersey White , and for some—especially the defensive backs that are mostly special teamers—the group photo is a rare opportunity to be in the spotlight with some of the players they are closest with. Or as Lions safety Quandre Diggs puts it... Of course, just because the league is discussing it doesn’t mean the change will be implemented. This is simply the time for such discussion to be had. But considering all the of moves the league has already made to drop all of the unnecessary rules regarding celebrations, finally starting to shed the “No Fun League” moniker, if the NFL decides to move on this proposal, it would be a huge step back in restoring fun in the game.

UPDATELooks like it may very well be an offensive-minded coach outside of the organization. The buzz continues to build for the Bengals hiring a coach who has recently been with the organization. While the early buzz favored Hue Jackson to replace Marvin Lewis Womens Giovani Bernard Jersey , it appears Vance Joseph could be jumping into the lead, at least based on a report from Albert Breer of MMQB. Breer also gave an interesting update on the coaching search involving other front-office personnel other than owner Mike Brown: It appears Jackson is still a threat to get the job, but I think it’s more likely he’s the team’s next offensive coordinator. After the Bengals interviewed several candidates last week, it’s been oddly quiet on the coaching search this week. There was even a report that Cincinnati wanted to interview Gary Kubiak to be the team’s next offensive coordinator, which would suggest that the team already has a good idea of who its next coach will be. Joseph is technically an out-of-house candidate, but he does have history in Cincinnati Womens Shawn Williams Jersey , and Brown likely prefers a coach he’s familiar with. Before becoming the Broncos’ head coach for the past two seasons and the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator in 2016, Joseph was the defensive backs coach for the Bengals for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.Joseph was outed from Denver after he accumulated just 11 wins in two seasons, a big reason why he’s getting zero reported interest from NFL teams not named the Bengals. NEW ORLEANS (AP) — They were badly burned by the “Nola no-call Joey Bosa Jersey ,” but the New Orleans Saints have joined the NFL in opposing a fan’s lawsuit seeking damages over the missed penalty that helped the Los Angeles Rams beat the Saints in a January playoff game and move on to the Super Bowl. The lawsuit by attorney and self-proclaimed fan Anthony LeMon resulted in a state judge’s recent order that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and three game officials submit to questions in September. The league appealed to the Louisiana Supreme Court on Wednesday night. And attorneys for the Saints filed an accompanying brief supporting the league. At issue is officials’ failure to call a roughness or pass interference penalty on Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman for his helmet-to-helmet hit on receiver Tommylee Lewis well before a pass arrived during the NFC Championship game. The Rams won that game and advanced to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the New England Patriots.“As the Saints have expressed, no team should be denied the opportunity to reach the title game (or simply win a game) based on the actions, or inactions, of those charged with creating a fair and equitable playing field,” Saints attorneys say in the brief. They go on to say that the team has sought rules changes aimed at addressing such possibilities. However, the brief says, allowing the suit to proceed would be wrong.“While the Saints appreciate the fervor and dedication of their deep and passionate fan-base, allowing such claims to proceed in court would open the door to countless legal claims brought by passionate sports fans that would inundate the courts and overburden sports leagues and their member teams, including the Saints,” the brief says.LeMon, who filed with three other ticket-holders, answered the Saints and the NFL in a brief Thursday Nick Bosa Jersey , noting that no other such suits are pending in the state court where he filed, and arguing that the circumstances of the game — and his lawsuit — are unique. The suit isn’t simply filed over a missed call, his filing said. Among its allegations are claims that fraud and “implicit or unconscious bias” on the part of game officials from the Los Angeles area led to the decision not to flag the penalty.“We can assure you that the four ticketholders who initiated this lawsuit, including me, are passionate fans and do not want to cause any harm to the Saints organization,” LeMon wrote in an emailed statement. The NFL’s filing asks the high court to halt proceedings in the lawsuit and grant a quick review of the case, which state Civil District Court Judge Nicole Sheppard of New Orleans allowed to proceed. NFL attorneys argue that LeMon and his fellow plaintiffs — all game ticket-holders — have no right of action under Louisiana law.“Plaintiffs’ Petitions clearly seek legal redress for their frustration and disappointment with the outcome and rule-administration of a ticketed event, and the law is clear that ticket-holders lack a right of action to do so,” the NFL’s brief says.LeMon counters that the suit isn’t about unhappiness with the outcome of a fairly played game, or a simple error by officials. “It is an entirely different situation when an NFL official clearly observes an infraction and purposely does not call a penalty,” his filing said.LeMon’s lawsuit was crafted to avoid the NFL being able to move it to federal court, where three other lawsuits over the game have been unsuccessful.“This lawsuit is very different from any other ticketholder lawsuit that has ever been filed against the NFL because it is based on the unique laws in Louisiana, rooted in the Napoleonic Code L.J. Collier Jersey , which exists only in Louisiana,” LeMon added in his emailed statement. One way of keeping it in state court was to keep damages low at $75,000. LeMon has said he intends for any money won to go to former Saints star Steve Gleason’s charity to aid people with neuromuscular diseases. Gleason was diagnosed with ALS in 2011. LONDON (AP) — The Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears are taking vastly different approaches to their trip to London. The Raiders spent the entire week here after flying straight from Indianapolis following last week’s game. They held three practices just like they would back home, got some opportunities to take in some sights, like a soccer game, and did plenty of bonding while acclimating to a new time zone and environment.“It’s been wonderful,” Raiders coach Jon Gruden said Friday. “We’ve had a great acclimation here to the time zone. The hotel setup is great, the practice field is sensational and we’re not going to have any negative impact on our performance because of the time zone. We’ll be ready to go.”Gruden opted for this approach after choosing to spend most of the week back home in the Bay Area last year before arriving on Friday and losing 27-3 to Seattle in London. For the Bears, the game on Sunday is like a business trip. They arrived from Chicago on Friday morning, held a practice at a rugby field in the afternoon and then tried to rest up before playing their game. Coach Matt Nagy opted for that approach after having done it the same as an assistant for Kansas City in 2015 when the Chiefs beat the Lions 45-10.“It wasn’t too bad,” receiver Allen Robinson said. “Once you got out there and got the blood going a little bit, it wasn’t too bad. I thought we had a really crisp practice today, not just for getting off the plane but in general. We looked sharp today. I don’t envision any jet lag on Sunday.”Not that an early arrival guarantees any success. The Raiders went straight to London from the East Coast in 2014 http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/a...arquise-blair-jersey , getting a full practice week here and time to acclimate. They ended up losing 38-14 to Miami and coach Dennis Allen was fired soon after they arrived home. But they still decided spending more time would be the better approach this year.“Certainly, we thought it would be an advantage for us,” said offensive coordinator Greg Olson, who is coaching his eighth game in London. “We had a chance to come last year, we came over on a Thursday and we just didn’t feel like our players were rested enough, so we decided to make a change this year in the schedule and that’s the reason why we decided to come Sunday, but I feel like right now our players had a good practice. They were full of energy, they looked rested, so we’re counting on the fact that we came here Sunday to give us a little bit of an advantage.”The extra time allowed some of the players to check out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday for a Champions League game against Bayern Munich.Quarterback Derek Carr got to see the stadium where he will play, got to sit in the chairman’s suite and even had tea at halftime in an experience far different from what he is used to back home. But the biggest benefit comes in the extra rest.“I definitely feel better, that’s for sure,” he said. “My body feels better, I know our team feels better. Having that day off when you first get here and then having another day off after that to rest and get right and eat T.J. Hockenson Jersey , get your metabolism going back the right way and things like that. As a family man I hate it, if I’m going to be honest, but as a quarterback I love it. So, I think coming the whole week is a good move.”The Bears took the opposite approach, staying in Chicago after last week’s home game against Minnesota to get a couple of practices in at their facility before leaving Thursday.Star edge rusher Khalil Mack said he’d wait to do sightseeing until coming back on vacation. His focus is on playing his former team for the first time.“People could put us in Australia, China, whatever,” he said. “The Chicago Bears will be ready to play ball on Sunday.”NOTES: DE Clelin Ferrell (concussion) and WR Tyrell Williams (foot) have not practiced all week for the Raiders and are questionable. … WR Dwayne Harris (ankle), receiver J.J. Nelson (knee), and G Richie Incognito (back) are also listed as questionable for Oakland. … Bears DL Akiem Hicks (right knee) will be a game-time decision. … QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder), WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) and G Ted Larsen have all been ruled out for Chicago.

LAKE FOREST Clelin Ferrell Jersey , Ill. (AP) — One more victory to finish the regular season was in the books and that meant the party was on at “Club Dub.”The Chicago Bears were swaying and jumping and pumping their fists as the strobe lights flashed and “Swag Surfing” by Fast Life Yungstaz blasted through the visitors’ locker room at Minnesota. The video then cut to coach Matt Nagy leading his players as they raised their right arms and thrusted them toward the ground.“Boom!” they yelled.“One more!” Nagy screamed.“Boom!”“And another!” he yelled again.“Boom!”“Ooh, that feels good!” Nagy said. How could it not?The Bears (12-4) have been lowering the boom on just about everyone they have faced in their first season under Nagy, a magical ride where the next stop is Sunday when they host defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia in their first playoff game in eight years. Chicago comes in with an NFC North title after four straight last-place finishes, nine wins in 10 games and a belief that anything is possible.Nagy inherited what looked like a major rebuild when he became the Bears’ 16th head coach. Chicago went 14-34 the previous three seasons under John Fox and won 13 games in two years under Marc Trestman. But Nagy already has more victories than any other rookie coach in franchise history. Beyond that, he has made Sundays fun again in Chicago. He is demanding and creative, running trick plays with names like “Santa’s Sleigh” and turning the locker room into a virtual nightclub after victories. His demeanor seems to resonate with players and fans.To the people who have known him the longest, none of this is all that surprising. They saw the charm and determination as he developed into a star quarterback at Manheim Central in Pennsylvania’s Amish Country and a record-setter at Delaware. He’s in quite a spot at age 40, considering he was just about out of pro football a decade earlier. With a young family, he was selling new homes after the Arena Football League folded. He got the break he needed from Andy Reid in Philadelphia with an assist from a college teammate. And look at him now.“I think if you’re given a chance and you’re driven and you’re obsessed and you are consumed with being given an opportunity to make people right or prove yourself right, then the sky is the limit,” Nagy said.Bill Nagy thinks back to when his son was in about the eighth grade and a clown in a dunk tank on the boardwalk in Seaside Park, New Jersey, wouldn’t stop taking playful jabs at the boy.The more the clown ran his mouth, the more determined Matt Nagy became.“It was maybe $2 for three throws,” Bill Nagy said. “He was so sure that he was going to hit the bullseye and knock the clown into the water. I’ll tell you what http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/au...c-josh-jacobs-jersey , I must have ponied up probably $20. Matt kept asking me for $2 at a time because this clown was just talking smack and making fun of him. … He didn’t want to leave until he hit that bullseye and sent him into the water. He finally did it.”Bill Nagy was a college defensive tackle who has taught and coached at the high school level off and on since the 1970s. He was the defensive line coach for a powerhouse team at Elizabeth High School in New Jersey when Todd Bowles — who Matt Nagy would work with on Reid’s staff in Philadelphia — was a star.By the time his son dunked that clown, Bill Nagy had already noticed certain skills and leadership as the young quarterback worked his way through Manheim’s youth program.Gail Stouch saw an innate charisma in Nagy, an only child, even when he was just a few years old. She moved the family about 150 miles west to her hometown of Manheim from Piscataway when he was about 3, shortly after divorcing Bill. It didn’t take him long to start developing a wide network of friends particularly when he started playing sports.“He has that charismatic personality that people gravitate toward,” she said. “It’s interesting. Outgoing.”It wasn’t always smooth for Nagy. His drive may have led to some confrontations early on with his high school coach Mike Williams over a play call, mistake or some other disagreement. But they worked through it, forged a strong bond. And Nagy led Manheim Central to two state semifinals in the 1990s.“I like players who show emotion, who have a pulse so to speak,” said Williams, a head coach for 34 years. “He certainly had a pulse. I really didn’t think it was overboard. A couple times there were maybe disagreements, but that was just short-term. Halfway through his junior year, we clicked on everything.”Williams also saw a leader, someone who just had a way with others. He was the one other kids gravitated to.“He had a good group of friends, and it was a variety Johnathan Abram Jersey ,” Stouch said. “Lots of them. Not necessarily all involved in sports. … As far as coaching, he loved kids. And he loved being a teacher of younger kids. You have to have that leadership and take control, set the example.”Nagy coached youth football with a friend in high school and worked camps at Delaware, where he remains the school’s all-time leader in yards passing.“He’s the type of guy that would be good at anything he does because he’s a super-motivated dude,” said Jason Nerys, a college teammate.About two years ago, Nagy predicted at a booster club luncheon in his hometown that he would become an NFL head coach someday. But he didn’t draw it up this way.He thought he was going to the New York Giants coming out of college in 2001, only to lose that opportunity after they drafted Jesse Palmer in the fourth round. There was a tryout with the Packers that didn’t lead to a contract. He spent six years in the Arena League before it folded following the 2008 season. He got his job selling new construction houses for a company back home around that time and got internships at training camp in back-to-back summers for Philadelphia with an assist from college teammate Brett Veach, who was working for the Eagles. In 2010, Nagy had a decision to make. Reid was offering full-time work as a coaches assistant, but it came with a significant pay cut, a risky move with a young family.Nagy talked it over with his wife and high school sweetheart Stacey, and decided to take the plunge. For about the first six months, that meant hitting the road at 3:30 a.m. every day so he could make it to the facility 99 miles away by 5. But he kept working his way up the coaching tree from there while following Reid to Kansas City, becoming the Chiefs‘ quarterbacks coach http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/au...rayvon-mullen-jersey , offensive coordinator and ultimately their play-caller late last season. The Bears liked the looks of him and the potential chemistry with their young quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky. Nagy was still 39 when his booster club prediction came true.“If you were to say to me, ‘You’re going to get these opportunities, what would you do with it?'” Nagy said. “I’d tell you I’d be right here. But I was able to get to this point for one reason, and that’s through all of the support system I have with family, friends, coaches, mentors and players. That’s the reason I’m here.” Bears running back Tarik Cohen revealed a bit more than he intended when he took a video from the team’s locker room after Monday night’s win over Washington.Cohen’s video featured guard Kyle Long in the background without any clothes on, which made for a pretty serious faux pas even if the video itself didn’t violate league rules about posting to social media before the postgame interview period has come to an end.Bears head coach Matt Nagy addressed the incident on Wednesday.“I think it’s unfortunate that that happened,” Matt Nagy said, via the . “Tarik feels bad and is apologetic and embarrassed that it happened. I think it’s something that you need to do is you learn from it. It was a mistake and nothing that is malicious at all. But it was a mistake so let’s make sure that that mistake doesn’t happen again to all of our players.”There’s no word on any punishment that Cohen might face for posting the video and one imagines the Bears will be a good deal more vigilant about making sure no one makes the same mistake in the future.

COSTA MESA Dre'Mont Jones Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers would welcome the return of tight end Antonio Gates following the serious knee injury sustained by Hunter Henry last week.Rivers endorsed the idea of re-signing Gates, who is a free agent after playing all 15 seasons of his record-setting career for the Chargers, but said the decision would be up to general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Anthony Lynn.“I would always be excited if he walked back in the door, obviously. Certainly, he would get my vote,” Rivers said Tuesday.Gates would be a logical fit to help replace Henry, who is expected to miss the upcoming season because of a torn ACL he sustained in practice. Henry had emerged as a top target for Rivers over his first two seasons with 81 receptions for 1,057 yards and 12 touchdowns Hakeem Butler Jersey , contributing to the team’s decision not to bring back Gates.Gates caught 87 of his 114 touchdown receptions from Rivers, the second-most by a quarterback-receiver combination in NFL history behind the 112 touchdown passes Peyton Manning threw to Marvin Harrison for Indianapolis. Gates has the most touchdown receptions by a tight end in NFL history to go along with his franchise-record 927 receptions and 11,508 yards receiving. The absence of Henry leaves Virgil Green as the only tight end currently on the roster that has caught a pass in an NFL game. Behind Green, who signed with the Chargers as a free agent from Denver in April, are second-year players Sean Culkin and Braedon Bowman and rookies Cole Hunt and Ben Johnson.“It will look different without Hunter in there, but thankfully we have another 10 practices or so, counting the mini-camp, to continue to shape the offense for who we’re going to be http://www.bengalscheapstore.com/jonah-williams-jersey-cheap ,” Rivers said.Rivers had been in contact with Gates since Henry tore his ACL, declining to discuss the specifics of their conversations.“If something were to happen down the road, he wouldn’t have wanted it to come that way with Hunter’s absence,” Rivers said.—- Now that he can actually talk about being the coach of the Bengals, Zac Taylor can get to know his best player. And for A.J. Green, the promise of some new spark on offense matches his excitement to be well.Green told Geoff Hobson of the team’s official website he hadn’t met Taylor as of this morning, but couldn’t wait to.“I’ve heard great things,? Green said. “The way they run the ball sets up the pass game. I love it. I love the play-action. It’s fun to get back in that kind of offense. I loved playing for Jay [Gruden [url=http://www.bengalscheapstore.com/drew-sample-jersey-cheap]Drew Sample Jersey[/url] , the Bengals coordinator his first three years]. I had my best years with Jay.”Injuries kept Green’s numbers to career lows last year, but he has gotten rid of the walking boot he was using for protection after toe surgery in December. He said he consulted with other players who have rehabbed similar injuries (including Julio Jones, Antonio Gates, and Brandon Marshall) and feels good about his prospects.“[Gates] told me it takes time,” he said. “Four to five months to get range of motion. He had it in 2008 and no problems. (Marshall) said it’s a long process just because it’s a toe with a bunch of little things, but he’s been fine.”Getting Green back online will also help Taylor make a good first impression, as he tries to invigorate an offense that has a solid stable of skill-position talent.

TEMPE http://www.bengalscheapshop.com/cheap-au...ichael-jordan-jersey , Ariz. (AP) — Steve Wilks began what could be his final week as Arizona Cardinals coach pretty much the same as any other week.At what might be his last Monday news conference, the first-year coach calmly, politely answered every question thrown his way. What he might like to say is another matter.“I always tell the coaches this: There’s always a bubble over a player’s head and as you sit there trying to talk to him, if you really understood what that bubble was saying back, you’d be amazed,” Wilks told reporters with his usual straight face. “There’s a bubble over my head and if you really knew exactly how I felt inside and what it was saying, you would question my faith at times.”Asked to reveal one of the thoughts from inside the bubble, Wilks said, “My mom’s in town, so I don’t want to say those words.”Wilks is dryly funny and likable, which makes watching him toil through this season difficult. There hasn’t been much improvement from the opening of training camp. Some things, the run defense for instance, have gotten worse. But Wilks soldiers on with an inconsistent rookie at quarterback, a one-time All-Pro running back who never broke loose and an extremely popular wide receiver nearing the end of a spectacular career. Otherwise, the Cardinals have a core of mostly anonymous receivers and an offensive line of rookies and castoffs from other teams after the starters, who weren’t much more effective, went down with injuries. Only rookie center Mason Cole remains from that first group. The defense has hung in there much of the season but has been gashed for 215 and 269 yards rushing the last two weeks, its worst two games of the year in that department. Five days after being signed off the street, C.J. Anderson rushed for 167 yards — one shy of his career best — in the Rams’ 31-9 win in Glendale.Wilks called Arizona’s run defense “a virus” under his skin. He blames it on players being in the wrong places and, most of all, missed tackles. This coach is all about defense. He was defensive coordinator for a season with Ron Rivera in Carolina. Before that, he coached defensive backs for five seasons. So he takes the defensive issues personally. But it’s been the offense that’s been an even bigger problem. Arizona ranks last in the NFL in every major category, and with one game left it’s hard to see that changing much. The only Arizona TD against the Rams was a trick play that saw rookie Josh Rosen throw backward to Fitzgerald T.J. Hockenson Jersey , who tossed to a wide-open David Johnson for his first career scoring pass (in 15 NFL seasons). He has 115 career TD catches.Fitzgerald bumped chests with offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich when he left the field to chants of “Larry, Larry.”“Because he told me he was going to call it, so I was happy he did, and I had the opportunity to throw something,” Fitzgerald said.Otherwise, the offense didn’t do much, and one play won’t make Wilks’ job more secure. He acknowledges getting support from around the league.“Coach Rivera is always a guy that I’m very close to,” Wilks said. “There are times that (Bengals head coach) Marvin Lewis has reached out to me this year. (Jets head coach) Todd Bowles, (Bills head coach) Sean McDermott. Those guys who have gone through the process and just words of encouragement.”Now comes a trip to Seattle, which has already clinched a playoff spot. Just how much the main cast of characters will play for the Seahawks remains to be seen. Arizona finished 1-7 at home, its worst since moving from St. Louis 30 years ago. A loss on Sunday would leave the team 3-13, tied for the worst since the franchise moved and the worst since 2000.When it’s over in the Pacific Northwest, Wilks will fly back with his team to hear his fate. All those promises worth millions upon millions to free agents turned into paydays Wednesday when the NFL’s business year began.Of course, teams needed to clear salary cap space or rejigger their ledgers to make it work, and they’ll still be doing so for months. While the likes of Drew Brees, Malcolm Butler and Andrew Norwell cashed in bigtime, having reached agreements in the past two days before everything became official, some value entered the marketplace.Arizona released safety Tyrann Mathieu when it couldn’t rework his deal. On Tuesday, the Cardinals let running back Adrian Peterson go.Baltimore cut receiver Jeremy Maclin. Detroit said goodbye to tight end Eric Ebron. Pittsburgh tore up a secondary that often was torn up by opposing quarterbacks, releasing Mike Mitchell, Robert Golden and William Gay.But Carolina had more success with a veteran, completing a one-year deal with defensive end Julius Peppers. The 38-year-old Peppers, who contemplated retirement after 17 pro seasons http://www.lionscheapshop.com/cheap-auth...jahlani-tavai-jersey , remains with the Panthers for $5 million, with $2.5 million guaranteed, a person familiar with the situation said. The person spoke to The Associated Press on Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the team does not release financial terms of contracts.”I am fired up to have him back,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said. ”It was amazing to have him as part of what we are trying to build and I think he can help us get to the next level.”Cleveland, meanwhile, did nothing more than listen to one of its greatest players, tackle Joe Thomas , announce his retirement. The Browns save his $10.3 million salary for 2018 and a $3 million bonus but lose their best player and leader in the expansion era (1999-present), a 10-time Pro Bowler.”This was an extremely difficult decision, but the right one for me and my family,” Thomas said. ”Playing in the NFL has taken a toll on my body and I can no longer physically compete at the level I need to.”CARDINALSMathieu was due for $18.75 million of his contract to be guaranteed when the league year officially begins. By cutting him, Arizona will save close to $5 million in cap space.Mathieu became a star in the Arizona secondary after being selected in the third round of the 2013 draft following a troubled college career at LSU. He was an All-Pro in 2015, when he had five interceptions and 17 passes defensed. But he also has been plagued by injuries and only last season did Mathieu appear in all 16 games.RAVENSBaltimore frees up an estimated $5 million in salary cap space by releasing Maclin, who signed on as a free agent in June. But Maclin missed two games with a shoulder injury, two more with knee issues, and finished with only 40 catches for 440 yards and three touchdowns. The 84 receptions he had over the past two seasons (2016 with Kansas City) are three fewer than he had with the Chiefs in 2015.Then the Ravens agreed to deals with receivers John Brown and Ryan Grant.Brown, 27, spent four years in Arizona and is a speedy deep threat, something Baltimore desperately needs. He can also return kicks.Grant, also 27, was with Washington for four seasons.49ERSSan Francisco agreed to a four-year contract with running back Jerick McKinnon and a five-year deal with center-guard Weston Richburg. McKinnon replaces departing starter Carlos Hyde and Richburg could start anywhere in the interior line.”We see Weston as one of the top young interior offensive linemen in the NFL,” GM John Lynch said. ”His athleticism, intelligence and attitude are a perfect fit for our scheme. Jerick has proven to be an extremely versatile football player whose speed Will Harris Jersey , elusiveness and tackle-breaking ability make him a very difficult matchup for defenses. We can’t wait to get them on the field with their teammates and coaches later this spring.”GIANTSNew York agreed with offensive tackle Nate Solder, late of the Patriots, to become its starter on the left side. Solder, 29, will get a four-year contract worth about $62 million. The Giants can move 2015 first-round draft pick Ereck Flowers to the right side as they rebuild a line that has struggled for years.TITANSTennessee kept right guard Josh Kline and defensive end David King with new contracts after making a splash in free agency by getting Butler for $60 million over five years ($30 million guaranteed) and also taking running back Dion Lewis away from New England.BILLSThe Bills restocked their quarterback position by agreeing to a two-year contract with AJ McCarron. The 27-year-old spent the past four seasons backing up Andy Dalton in Cincinnati after being selected by the Bengals in the fifth round of the 2014 draft.McCarron’s signing came five days after Buffalo traded three-year starter Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland. The trade left 2017 fifth-round pick Nathan Peterman as the only quarterback on Buffalo’s roster.Buffalo also added defensive end Trent Murphy from Washington and got a needed pass rusher, albeit a player coming off a major injury.Murphy had 15 sacks in 47 games, including nine in 2016, then sat out last season after tearing two ligaments in his left knee in a preseason game. The Bills finished tied for 30th in the NFL with just 27 sacks last season. The Bills added defensive backfield depth by agreeing with safety Rafael Bush on a two-year contract, and got linebacker Julian Stanford on a two-year contract.FALCONSThe Falcons addressed a need by signing offensive guard Brandon Fusco, who started 16 games for San Francisco last season, to a three-year deal. Fusco, who began his career with the Vikings, could immediately start at right guard.DOLPHINSFive-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh officially was released, when the trades to acquire defensive end Robert Quinn and send Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns were formalized.Miami also released tight end Julius Thomas, which had been expected, but decided to keep right tackle Ja’Wuan James, which guarantees him $9.34 million in 2018.CHARGERSTight end Virgil Green got a three-year contract and safety Adrian Phillips re-signed with a one-year deal.Green spent the past seven seasons with the Broncos, starting all 16 games last season and winning a Super Bowl ring in February 2016. His addition adds intrigue to whether the Chargers will bring back 37-year-old tight end Antonio Gates, who hopes to extend his record-setting career for at least another season.JETSNew York signed linebacker Avery Williamson to a three-year contract worth $22.5 million. Williamson spent his first four NFL seasons with Tennessee and led the Titans in tackles in two of those years. The Jets also tendered wide receiver Quincy Enunwa at the second-round level, worth $2.9 million. Enunwa was emerging as a threat before missing last season with a bulging disk in his neck that required surgery. He had a breakout season in 2016, catching 58 passes for 857 yards and four touchdowns.—

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield revisited his criticism of former head coach Hue Jackson in a recent interview and said that he hasn’t changed his view since the end of the 2018 season.Jackson took a job with the Bengals after being fired by Cleveland during the season and Mayfield called Jackson “fake” after a game between the teams later in the year. Mayfield said recently that he “said what I meant” and said he enjoyed getting “revenge” by winning that game.During an appearance with Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports Radio Oshane Ximines Jersey , Jackson was asked if he was bothered by Mayfield’s stance.“It doesn’t bother me personally,” Jackson said. “I’ve been in the NFL for a long time and seen a lot of different ways of people handling things. He has to do what he feels he needed to do and that’s how he’s handled it. Everyone is going to handle things differently and that’s how he chooses to make sure he’s ready to go and ready to play. The Browns weren’t playing Hue Jackson, the Browns were playing the Bengals.”Jackson has expressed a desire to be a head coach again, but he’s currently out of football altogether so there won’t be any on-field run-ins with Mayfield this season. Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey isn’t making it any secret that he wants a pay raise.Ramsey Julian Love Jersey , who has had plenty to say about his contract this offseason, arrived at training camp today in an armored truck. The driver of the truck got out before Ramsey and had a megaphone to make an announcement.“You all know what time it is,” the driver said. “Time to get that money.”Ramsey exited out the back of the truck, surrounded by what appeared to be bags of money Darius Slayton Jersey , although it seems unlikely that this truck actually had huge stores of cash in it.The 24-year-old Ramsey is heading into the fourth year of his rookie contract, and is due a $3.6 million salary this year. The Jaguars have picked up his fifth-year option, meaning he’s due $13.7 million for the 2020 season. He won’t be eligible to hit free agency until 2021, and even then the Jaguars could use the franchise tag to keep him in Jacksonville T.J. Hockenson Jersey , so the team may not be in a big hurry to give Ramsey the large amount of cash he wants.
